Would it be practical to have 2 ignore functions?

One for the news thread only posts and one that applies across the whole board. Srry if what i suggest is impossible, i am not a tech person.

I wouldn't mind a function to ignore the entire News subforum so I don't have to accidentally be reminded of (politopic of the day) when I just want to see which subforums have new posts.
