She has her own life, family and friends in the States. But Harry? He didn't just leave his family, he insulted them in public with the most famous interviewer there is. His relationship with Wills and Charles is never going to be the same no matter what happens. Not to mention that Harry is now deeply unpopular in Britain, his name is mud every time he comes up now.
He just got hired to be on a Silicon Valley tech company's board because he's good looking and royalty.

He's fine.
At the end of the day - its their word against the Royal Family. No reason to believe him, her or them over anyone else.
Harry risked his life in Afghanistan and his brother didn't?
1) Popularity is fleeting. We'll see how well he lasts when those looks fade and the public has moved on to the next celeb.

2) So you think that military service makes you more trustworthy?

Each of them writing a book could probably keep them afloat for 15 years.

1] He's been popular for literal decades so I don't think that's changing any time soon.

2] Are you sincerely arguing that someone who has risked their lives for their country isn't more trustworthy than someone who is one of the idle rich?

Your priorities confuse me a lot, Clearspira.

1) His name is mud now in Britain. Case in point: Piers Morgan was kicked off the TV for criticising Meghan... and do you know what the public response was? That show lost half a million viewers in a week. Go Woke Go Broke.

2) PLEASE don't make me post some photos of US soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners.

''But that is the exception!!!''

And it always will be with people like you. Every example of soldiers being assholes, every example of a rich person helping out others, will always be an exception. A uniform does not make you more trustworthy than someone else nor do dollars in the bank somehow make you less. And to be honest with you, the fact that you think that it does says more about your views of the rich than it does about my views of Harry and Meghan.

Only among frothing-at-the-mouth Daily Express readers. As I said above, the rest of us couldn't give less of a shit either way.

Just because kicking out Piers Morgan reduced viewing figures, it doesn't follow that this reduction was because people agreed with him. The Top Gear figures dropped a lot after Clarkson left, and I'm sure most of those who stopped watching wouldn't agree it's OK to punch a producer if they give you the wrong sandwich. No, just because a person did something bad, that doesn't mean that they're not a good entertainer, and it doesn't mean their successor is going to be as good an entertainer as they were.

(Though FWIW I completely agree with you about military service not necessarily implying trustworthiness. Worked with an ex-military guy for a few days once. He kept his van incredibly tidy but he cut corners everywhere.)

You missed that he was fired and the rest stayed because, well, the public knows he's a piece of shit who doesn't deserve airtime. What a fucking loser and good riddance.

And "Go woke and go broke" can be summarized as, "We should support greed over morality."

That's the lesson you want to support?

I see false equivalence is at work.

I grew up in the country club asshole set, actually. My parents were millionaires. However, you aren't interested in any of that because for some reason you want to defend Prince William against Prince Harry on the latter being treated like shit.

I find it contemptible you wouldn't want a man to defend his wife. I also am curious why you would even want to side with them against them.

Actually for putting together what we know about people, being a soldier is a major plus imo. I'm sure the respect is earned for you, but that's not a very nuanced way of assessing things. There's plenty that can go wrong in the path of a soldier's life, but to just kind of denounce it to your own personal speculation and standard of integrity leaves some for to be desired honestly. We should really be able to rely a bit more on what we do know about his affairs and not spite for anything short of a litmus test.

I think saying that Harry is like someone who tortured prisoners so his defending his POC wife is awful versus the rich white billionaire prince that is his OWN BROTHER attacking her is the very definition of an argument made in bad faith.

Piers Morgan is, and always has been, an unrepentant shithead with a hair trigger. He went off on a rant, behaved unprofessionally, and then walked out himself because he didn't feel he was getting enough of a platform.
