Hopefully other big cities will start following suit.

This can only be a good thing. Personally, while other cities should follow suit, I would prefer bodycams now. I know, baby steps and all that, but that would cut down on a lot of immediate issues with police outreach.

Bodycams don't do much good if all the evidence in the world can't be used in court against them because of qualified immunity.

Nevertheless, one baby step is a good thing, we need thousands of more everywhere else. And when you add them up, then things begin improving. But our leaders don't want that. Tide may be shifting, though. We'll see.

Maybe if you learn to walk we wouldn't need baby steps.

Those same Twitter SJWs are those who call someone who disagrees with them or thinks there's new racism against whites Nazis. However much a stupid take one personally feels it is, fine. That's okay.

But to call such a viewpoint Nazism is completely disingenuous and dangerous as a whole. It is slander and also obfuscates the reality to actual white supremacist movements who consider white people as the master race and want all other races to serve them or be purged. I mean, the right-wingers get sneered off for making Nazi comparisons, yet how is the left any better when they do the same thing?

It concerns me. Look at our digital sphere. I can remember a time when you could dislike comments on YouTube, they gave you the ratios. Now you only see how much likes there are. Okay then. They are now doing the same thing for content creators. And my first opinion was that this is being done to shield the corporate online video platforms from massive dislike campaigns as a way to raise awareness to public sentiment.

Sure, it's one small thing. I will give you that. And I can sympathize to wanting more civility in our discourse and positive changes. I do get that! But then how is this any different than the Nightwatch creeping in and using soft, friendly language while they prepare to rump you in the back? It feels very much like that for me today. And it's worrisome.

I can't speak for the many-headed online Leftist hivemind you keep addressing your complaints to, but for me? It's not that there hasn't been ANY improvement, it's that there hasn't been much improvement.

See the "finally" in the title? And notice how this is just one city in a country of many, many cities, with many, many huge police budgets? So in my own city, I still can't sue the cops if they shoot my window out while trying to create sixteen new orifices in a man suspected of selling loosies and just decided that the bullets which miss their target will vanish once offscreen.

That's why my whole thrust in this thread is "it's a good start", and you already have people crying foul and trying to water down even this green sprout of a measure.

Haven't you been paying attention to claims of toxic behavior among commentators though? That was an overall decent post, I just found a loose end here.
