Gina Carano fired

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Note: It is the desire of the leadership of SFDebris Conglomerate that all posters maintain a civil and polite bearing in this forum, regardless of how you feel about any particular issue. She's a retired MMA fighter that's dabbing in mainstream. Welcome to the jungle. We got fun and games.

This really is what cancel culture is becoming helmed off some radical neo-puritanical Twitter stans fresh from the echo chambers. I'm actually quite surprised we don't have a #CancelSFDebris hashtag going given the remarks he's made over a decade ago - though I REALLY don't want to give the woke lunatics ideas! Yeah, I could understand people who don't like something, but where does that end and you just shrug and agree to disagree, even defend that person's right to such an opinion? It seems like it's been shoved aside with so much else we've lost in the last few decades.
I might be wrong but no one bothers with canceling something like SFDebris. It's a site that posts reviews, and outside the SF community no one really knows about it. It's not like they cancel YouTube pages.
I got nothing to say here.

Well:
1) If there will ever be a "Cancel Chuck" movement, it's more likely to grow out it's fanbase and not random people who are trawling old remarks. A world where Chuck makes a severe misstep that drives off a significant portion of his fanbase is far more plausible than people on twitter pressure YouTube to bounce him off again.
2) Lindsay Ellis purged her twitter recently because of her reaction to criticism about a tweet she made comparing Avatar The Last Airbender to Raya and the Last Dragon. It's not a totally implausible scenario here, but Chuck is probably tiny enough to slip by.

Which is my point. Sfdebris is loved by many who know the site. DITL used to post links to his reviews for example but that forum is slowly dying. Just an example.

He would have to go batshit crazy to get enough fans to 'cancel' him.

Though with that said, he now has a YouTube channel. So maybe people will become aware of him. But compared to other YouTube channels, he is small fry so far. Critical Drinker does similar things as he does and he is pretty safe.
I got nothing to say here.

Well, it really was just a handful of people that have been behind this historically, always on Twitter. And then it blows up into something no one can predict or control. It's why I stay off Twitter, it's always infested by a buncha fanatics, left or right.

Yeah, Twitter is a mess where the gods turn away to weep. I only have a presence there because apparently it's necessary career-wise for writers who want to find agents. *Shudder*
