...blame?
I'm pretty sure BCM is being semi-facetious here.

It's impossible anyway. What's a flaw and what isn't is subjective; you can find some where the subjective opinion is very commonly held, almost to the extent of being universal, but there are plenty more that are inevitably divisive.
I mean to chuck piccard willingness to surrender or apathy is a flaw.
I think he's just having fun with cliches there rather than expressing an opinion.

What do you want as the alternative to classical liberalism? Some weird, inexplicably gender-fluid, non-binary, trans, proper-pronouned, nudist-inspired world of perfect conformity?
The term classic liberalism only applies to economic systems as the term was created as a response the the new deal and the modern liberalism (which allows for more worker protections, but falls short of the nordic model of social democracy). It's also called fiscal conservatism.

The last thing a nonbinary person like myself wants is conformity. I want a society built around direct democracy where people's needs come first, profits go to the public good rather than the pockets of the powerful, and people are fred to live as themselves.
To me, ST was never very good when it was lecturing and preachy. That worked to TOS because it was the era of cornball cheese and outright hokey goofiness, but they also had plenty of competent writers, and it was for a niche crowd. When the boomers became yuppies in the nineties, that changes. TNG's The Outcast was terrible, to name one example. The paradigm has changed. 1960s brand of liberalism wouldn't carry it anymore.
The outcast is terrible because it's message is weak, muddled, and has conversion therapy performed by a planet of nonbinary people. It sucks because it's a LGBT allegory where in it's about the right to be straight and the nonbinary gays are the bad guys.
The irony is ST seems to have gone full circle now. It's being made for a niche crowd, but the greedy Hollywood echo chamber doesn't seem aware of that, they continue writing for that niche crowd despite the way they try to aim high for broad appeal, because they really just want to make giant short-term financial gains, and in that, it is an industry success, but it's been murder on artistic expression and good and relevant, timeless social commentary. And it's just been abusive to the older fans.
The problem of the Modern Star Trek is that it's chasing trends too hard, is too serialized, and had to make everything a galaxy ending catastrophe rather than telling smaller stories.

My larger point remains, woke today is an attempt to market for a niche crowd at the same time they try to hit broad mainstream appeal. Those two do not go together and it's what causes so much mixed reception, while they resort to accusations of bigotry.

And it is fine to want to market to a niche crowd, but you need self-awareness to know that and operate by the management policies that demand that.

The essence of society is conformity. We are all in constant negotiation with each other to get along and none of us can be entirely ourselves, since if we were, we'd impinge upon others and suffer blow back.

The essence of antisocial behaviour is living as yourself without regard to others.

I'd also dispute such an open society being able to direct that to the public good without conformity creating the framework for such a society without demand. Look at typical American small town culture where everyone seeks to help each other out, but the expectation is that you conform and abide by the cultural norms to get that. Everyone tries looking out for each other, but you better damn be there for the local high school football games and such.

What you seek would work, but it would form a culture of its own and demand conformity to its set of social norms, they'd just be ones that suit you.
