SF Debris/Confused Matthew phone conversation on Star Trek 2009?
I've seen reference in a few places to a phone conversation between SF Debris and Confused Matthew about Star Trek (2009). I don't remember ever seeing this. Anyone know where this was originally posted, and (if it still exists on the internet anywhere) where I might be able to find it today?

If I had to guess, the answer is "lost, like tears in the rain." I'm fairly sure that it was on Confused Matthew's site, and that vanished with Blip.

I'm sure he still has fans who like to watch his older works in the same way Spoony still has people who loved his older stuff and try to archive and preserve his old stuff when his site went down.

True, he probably didn't go nuts like Spoony did.Beelzquill wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 5:20 am I'm sure he still has fans who like to watch his older works in the same way Spoony still has people who loved his older stuff and try to archive and preserve his old stuff when his site went down.

I think SF Debris himself was getting it confused for the Confused Matthew / Stand in Stan conversation where I remember them bringing up the apple during the test. It's not the same thing, but it's kind of similar from what I remember.

So, I absolutely do remember this video and I am 99% certain that it was on Matthew's now dead and gone site. I think it does have to be emphasised that when Chuck started getting popularity on Youtube, Matthew was already an established name as he was ''the Star Wars Prequels Guy'' before RLM and it was actually a nice bonus for Chuck in the early days to be associated with him. And I know this because it was through Matt that I originally found Chuck's original pre-HD vids back in the day. Only old timers like me will probably remember that the SFDebris forum was actually hosted on Matt's site.
As to what was said in that call though I simply cannot remember.
To answer TheBestofTheRest above, Beelzquill nailed it: i still like to go back and watch Matt's Prequel and Matrix reviews just as I like to go back and watch Spoony's Final Fantasy and Ultima stuff. The problem with both Matt and Spoony is a problem that almost all of those early Youtubers face and that is ''Old Hat Syndrome''. There are a hundred million Noah Antwilers out there and there are a hundred million takes on the Prequels. The things that once made them stand out now just look like sugar in a glass of water. But I maintain that their stuff still possesses a level of quality that allow them to somewhat stand the test of time. Spoony especially - I have no doubt that if things had been different a man of his talent would've been rivalling Angry Joe in subs right now.

Sadly, he got arrogant and let his ego gone wild, and even his own reddit is control by jaded ex fans.

Matthew's hit video I thought was on the Voyager finale. Before or after that he had the parody Yoda/Dooku fight, which took to his short and silly video format.
Really the format of his Matrix reviews, with stills, the low-volume action music in the background, work really well for how much information he dumps in narrative format.

I haven't thought of Confused Matthew in such a long time. My first impression of him was mainly through his scathing 2001 review, and the rebuttal video the now deceased Chase.
