I thought that someone on here would be talking about this by now so I thought I would: Noel Clarke AKA Micky has been accused of being one of the worst abusers in the industry today. We're in Weinstein territory here, it's something like 30 women so far. Some of them during his filming of Dr Who.
In addition, John Barrowman, AKA Cpt Jack, is a serial flasher. He has been accused by several people, men and women, of getting his bits out on set. Including at one point, during a BBC Radio 1 interview.
Horrible things of course, but I am also amused that the most left wing organization on Earth keeps on producing these massive perverts. If you have never heard of Jimmy Savile look that one up (just not over lunch).
I am not sure how to post links on my phone, the stories in question are on the BBC website.

Well, shit. I guess I should be relieved it's not one of the Doctors. I'm really horrified to learn that about Barrowman though. I thought he was a decent guy.
I'd hardly call the BBC "the most left wing organization on Earth", but the thing is sexual predators have no political allegiance. They can spout whatever gains them respect, and then they use that respect and authority to make sure that people with less power than them won't be believed.

Any organization that covers queer issues the way the BBC does has no claim to being left-wing at all, let alone a global leader in the field.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 8:33 am Well, shit. From what I know Barrowman seems to have abandoned this behavior in the past ten or so years and considers it an old shame. As he should. I don’t know if he’s issued formal apologies for it, but from everything I’ve been able to find his case is closer to James Gunn: he did some immature and inappropriate shit earlier in his career, he’s not proud of it, and if it’s not something you can enjoy his work knowing about then that’s on him for doing it in the first place.

Oh, the Davies era is going to be harder to watch from here on. I'm willing to give Barrowman the benefit of the doubt, it seems like he's, at bare minimum, cut that kind of junk out, but Clark can go sit and spin. At least it wasn't one of the Doctors. Hell, apparently Eccelston was on the RECEIVING end of some nastiness during his tenure. Part of the reason why he only lasted the one season and why he's only NOW getting involved in the audio dramas.

I didn't know that about Eccleston. I thought he just wasn't involved afterwards because he's anti-monarchist and the BBC thinks pointing out the worthlessness of publicly funded hereditary royals "simply isn't done".

Hold on... Ah! Here's the interview where he finally laid it down. Looks like it was less abuse and more a general screwing over and some anxiety issues.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 11:31 pm I didn't know that about Eccleston. Eccleston and Barrowman were and are NOT on good terms. Apparently they're still not getting along even on social media whenever they cross paths. And I doubt that RT Davies saw anything wrong with what John was doing back then, hence another reason why Eccleston decided to leave the show.

Well, that's unfortunate

Jesus Christ, THIS is why people say you Leftists are insane and never satisfied. "The BBC isn't left wing" - bullshit. First off, they're a government agency, so they SHOULD be biased, but secondly, everyone but insane Leftists can tell they're left wing. Just because someone isn't to the Left of Lenin doesn't make them Hitler.CmdrKing wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 1:23 pmAny organization that covers queer issues the way the BBC does has no claim to being left-wing at all, let alone a global leader in the field.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 8:33 am Well, shit.
