Enterprise: Space Nazi Two-parter

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

Hell, the NAZIs weren't even the only ones doing it in WWII. The Japanese oppressed Asia with the same mentality that they were better
The entire point of Nazism/Fascism is to recreate a pagan warrior society like the Romans for the industrial age, that's why they allied with Japan because even though Japan wasn't technically Fascist it still resembled the kind of society Fascists admired

So they used time travel to try to punish everyone who didn't fix their star. Except in the process they pissed off the Tholians who waited until they can find the thing to destroy their star, stole it and destroyed their star.
Well if we go by the canon episodes alone Vosk does appear to be trying to out-Nazi the Nazis

Well less with the warrior culture thing, though that definitely helped. But Haushofer's thesis rested primarily on the idea of an ethnically and culturally homogenized society, of which Japan is still one of the world's leaders to this day. His plans mostly centered around explaining why Westernization worked so damn well in Japan, and that you could achieve the same feats in Europe if you'd just have ethnocentric states instead of imperial borders cut up by the concert of Europe to make things nice and even for the global powers. And his book was definitely the main driving force why Japan was so idolized as a model in Germany.

Just, you know, there's two ways to achieve a nationstate with a single ethnic identity (well three ways but the third takes a few decades) and that's really where we run into problems.

More practically than the "warrior spirit" narrative, geopolitik theory stipulated that Germany would never have control over the Pacific for various geographic and cultural reasons. Japan was the obvious choice for a partner in the region because of the global impact of its trade, you couldn't just let a hostile power have it. but you couldn't physically occupy it, either.

The writers of STO seem to love this, because they did the exact same thing with the Iconians too.
It was also a point of unintentional hilarity because I turned up to their system in a Krenim timeship. "Ya know guys, I could solve this whole problem right now, one way or another.. no? Okay fine."
