Trek fans?
It sounded like a cool concept, I wish it had gotten a proper pilot instead of being a backdoor pilot in TOS.

Re: Watching TOS all the way through, AMA
I think it could work on it own if it air in the sixties. Now it only relevant is it connected to Star Trek, and despite what Burman and Braga believe people like there space stories with laser in the future to be about space stories with laser in the future. No one would want to see it as part of Trek show like no one would care about the holodeck novel on voyager.

When you already have SO MUCH Trek content out there, why not let one show deviate from the formula a little?Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 1:22 am I think it could work on it own if it air in the sixties. I guess, but wouldn't a story about The Eugenics Wars be better?Makeshift Python wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 1:38 amWhen you already have SO MUCH Trek content out there, why not let one show deviate from the formula a little?Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 1:22 am I think it could work on it own if it air in the sixties. I don't think we'll ever get those shows, especially Eugenics Wars.
Re: Watching TOS all the way through, AMA
Just can't work. Especially if the Eugenics War happened in the 1990's. This isn't Marvel. Can't sell a Trek mini series on a time frame that is 30 years ago all based on Trek Lore. You would have to heavily rely on the existing fans to make it even remotely successful.
Or they change it to another label for WW3. Which means altering Trek Canon to make it work. But at least that would be 30+ years from now. Probably could makd it topical.

I got nothing to say here.
Re: Watching TOS all the way through, AMA
To be fair, it's not as if they retconned the early history of Trek before, first wedging in a WW3 and then straight up showing no war in the 90s...
