OnlyFans is Slowly Banning Pornographic Content

Probably one of the most popular ''amateur'' porn sites there is - one could say the YouTube of porn sites - says that it wants to go legit and basically become the next TikTok.
A) The hypocrisy of it. They got rich on the backs of these women and are now saying F-You to them and moving on WITHOUT WARNING.
B) This was many women's job/medical insurance/student loan payment. Which in fairness is not their fault but rather capitalism. Still though, this is going to hurt a lot of people.
C) I will say however that I have never understood why any guy would pay money to follow a woman on one of these sites when there is plenty of perfectly good free porn out there. These are some sad, lonely guys imo. (No offence if that includes any of you, I would actually be interested to hear why you did it tbh).

There's non-pornographic content on OnlyFans? I thought it's only for that... huh, wierd. Anyways, never paid for any of the content there, but my guess is that it allows to cater for/to specific demands, something which "mass produced" porn doesn't, in one way or another.

This cycle happens over, and over, and over: a site gets popular over adult content, has enough users to go corporate, cracks down on adult content to placate payment processors and advertisers, drives people away to a new platform where they have more freedom, rinse and repeat.

What baffles me is that each time people act like "this new platform will be the one that doesn't follow that pattern" even though there is never any structural change to support that bizarre assertion, and history has shown it's never the eventual outcome.

I will say however that I have never understood why any guy would pay money to follow a woman on one of these sites when there is plenty of perfectly good free porn out there.

Financial Domination is a thing, apparently. Since these current platforms are pseudo-social networks (in the same way as Patreon encourages) it's not paying for porn, it's paying for a parasocial relationship. To me, this all just seems like FinDom with extra steps and plausible deniability.

I only ever heard of OnlyFans as people were excited to see internet celebrities take to the type of platform it is. Presumably because it got mainstream enough for them, and it wasn't technically a private room site under a porn banner. Only fans is no different than private rooms, and private rooms have been around for a long time. It's not as if Mia Khalifa needed an OnlyFans to do what she's doing.

But since OnlyFans became the first r-rated site for mega tiktokers and IG influencers to go to it showed a nuanced reflection of how influential the social media modeling market is, particularly from the sex corner as it turns out lol.

Instagram models have millions of followers because it's free, but it's been discussed how the business model centering around the Jenner girls appeal isn't quite compatible with the industrial modeling market model. OnlyFans probably wants to expand the IG model market into a more profitable venture. Pretty much what BlueRay did.

This is the latest technological variation of the world's oldest profession, and somehow it is the fault of "capitalism"? If that is true, that would suggest that capitalism is the natural state of economics iin civilized societies..

At least before that whole mess with Visa/MasterCard and those alleged reports of underage videos on the site (FtR, there's only been 100-ish real incidents out of tens of millions of videos in the last decade) leading to them gutting their archive and requiring profile verification to post.

Same reasoning behind Tumblr dumping their Adult blogs (though they actually had a proper problem there. If you knew the right tags, you could find some proper criminal trash).
