I don't think DJ necessarily
cares what Finn thinks, he's just showing where he personally stands as a response to Finn's growing commitment to the Resistance. Like "you do your thing, I'm doing mine".
Finn mentioned the Resistance once to DJ and how he saw them then DJ decided to tell Finn what he thought in dialogue that I frankly find clunky and artificial. If there was more scenes between these two before this moment where Finn kept going on about the Resistance and DJ just finally got fed up with it and decided to show how both the Rebels and the First Order both buy from weapon dealers I would be okay with it because people do that all the time.
But DJ just decides to talk about how the best option is to not choose (which is BS because DJ is choosing to work with both sides because, again, hacker for hire) because Finn mentioned how it felt good to help the good guys. This then prompts DJ to lecture Finn because Finn needs to have someone raise the question that's already been answered, should Finn stay out of the conflict or get involved. And I say already answered because that was part of Finn's arc in TFA which was answered when he stood up to Kylo to protect his friend.
But again, this issue here is that DJ has no reason to actually say this other then, Finn's character arc. If a character is JUST included to say something to get a character to go in a certain direction and have little to nothing else to offer I don't see how that's good for the story. Every character must have a purpose beyond just advancing someone else's character or the plot. They must have an arc of their own or we must learn something about them in a way that feels natural and real. Otherwise you risk it taking you out of the story which is what happened with me and DJ.
He has no reason to actually say this other then Finn needs to hear it and even that's questionable since, again, Finn already went through this arc so we already know the answer to the question because it's already been asked and answered.
