People like feeling outraged about things that don’t really matter (see Star Wars fans). Especially if it makes them feel righteously upset. That’s why those YouTube channels are so popular.

Re: Masters of the Universe: Revelation: Your Thoughts (Spoilers)
the show in excellent. The idea of "Revelations" is not just a title but serves as a visual motif (the bubbles being popped in the first episode) and a running theme as unexplored depths to various characters are explored in the wake on their friend and champion leaving them high and dry on the verge climate change... er, I mean the loss of magic destroying their world.
The idea that Teela would feel completely adrift in all of this make her a perfect protagonist and the idea that people keep trying to tell her more secrets (her mom being the Sorcerous) and she keeps cutting them off is great. A person who doesn't want to know more because doing so will only further underline how little they knew. That is excellent writing.
To say nothing of the supporting cast. They managed to get me to feel something about Orko. That is fucking magical.
Also, this is not a sequel to the original series. The original series was a goofy lighthearted borderline zero continuity affair. This is a sequel to the show people had in their heads. And it draws on all the other media too. The sword splitting goes back to the old comics, the line "let this be our final battle", there is tons of stuff in there for fans to appreciate, and if you don't think that is the case, you are a poser-fan who is complaining about the show for bullshit reasons.
It is the same bullshit that incel chuds always trot out, "But you said..." so they can complain about something that has a female lead.
It will be this same bullshit for years to come, because the entire world was geared toward selling toys to white boys, and now in 2020+ companies are acknowledging that other groups have money too and want to maybe, just maybe, expect white guys to empathize with those groups the way those groups were made to empathize with white guys for decades on end. I guess they just hate the thought that they are not part of the in group.
In my minds eye I can easily see how this story could be done with Adam as the protagonist. That the series starts with Skeletor's death, the sword being lost, and Adam being left in his depowered state with the world dying.
The story plays out mostly the same but with Adam trying and failing to be the same kind of hero that He-Man was and his character arc is learning that he is no longer "The most powerful man in the universe".
With equal clarity I see the incel chuds of the world complaining "they said the show was going to be about HE-MAN not ADAM. #Emasculation of the #Universe." Because these people are basic twerps who will never appreciate anything for what it is and only complain that it is not some nebulous thing that they do want.
The story would have been weaker for it. Adam is already a good person without anything to learn about himself. He doesn't need a character arc. Teela does, she is the logical character to put at the center of the story.

People are not actually mad about that. Apparently they have never encountered a swerve or twist in any piece of fiction they have ever read before.
