Just to get some perspective, what's the REPUBLICAN track record in NY? Are they actually doing the job, or is it just rot from tops to roots?

By whom, pray tell?

Anyway, I agree with the Good Riddance statement. Don't let the door hit yah were Promotheus split yah and all that.
Here are a couple of examples:

So, a Howard Stern spot by Cuomo himself, and a "maybe, maybe not" on CNN. Yeah, I'm not accepting this is a "front runner" description.

The primary I remember was an over-crowded mad scramble, followed by a dim hope that we wouldn't end up with Biden as that became increasingly clear.

In any case, I never had any attachment to him.

I'm NOT a fan of how he was removed. To some, who liked that Al Capone was removed over tax evasion, I suppose it works, but personally, I just think since they failed to investigate Biden, Me Too is dead, so... why are they still acting like it is? Cuomo mismanaged New York so badly, senior citizens were dying left and right from what I hear. He should have been removed over THAT. Not baseless accusations, and yes, I say baseless because we didn't get a single day spent in court. The party support network withdrew, and he knew he was going nowhere, so he just quietly resigned. It's really the same kinda thing you see in the blue-stamped movies: all flash, no substance. Like ScarJo's lawsuit against Disney. It's for optics.

This has scary implications to me. Like... something out of B5, where the Nightwatch and the Ministry of Peace was coming in with soft, friendly-sounding language to try to use a good cause to get people on their side as a way to further seize more and more control over us. And I'd like greater justice for rape victims. I want that. I think it's a damned shame victim blaming still exists. Yeah. However, when corporations and communities and political groups are basing decisions based on PR over allegations that won't ever get a day in court, then that's damaging US as a society. It's further permeating lies in the name of a good cause until pretty soon, we've lost our soul to a tiny minority that rule over us. Frankly, I'm having a hard time believing these women, and I don't say that lightly. It seems to me that with everything as such a hot toxic political mess, you can get any kinda political actor worth their salt to step in and cause mass chaos in America now. And with the rapidly shifting goalposts so that words are being changed and redefined, what even IS rape or sexual assault now? Is it something like "looked at me funny?" I don't know. Look, celebrate Cuomo being removed if you want. He has literal blood on his hands, I agree he's done horrible shit. And you have earned the right to be happy another crooked politician is gone. But how he went out... frankly, it worries me for the future...

Important notes on that Yuka:

- Cuomo resigned ahead of an impeachment proceeding, which was looking at both his sexual misconduct and his categorical bungling AND attempted coverup of nursing home usage.
- that is, he wasn’t removed, he gave a “I didn’t do nothin’!” speech then resigned, effective two-ish weeks after that speech. The new governor was only sworn in this week.

Now, it’s true that from the outside “the whole party turned on him for the *appearance* of impropriety” is what seemed to have happened, but that only became true months after the story broke, as real evidence entered the record and the legislature began to follow the formal procedures to do things by the book. It’s much closer to “we gave you every chance to prove this was nothing, and you blew it, so end this now and spare everyone the embarrassment”

I will take the L and concede to your points then. But at the same time, maybe it's just me, I'd say, press on it regardless. Okay, the Democrat leadership won't pursue it. How about civil authorities? I mean, as I've said, I DO hate the victim blaming and that they do get away with it - or that we can get accusations without a day in court. It's just insanity. I WANT THAT HEARING. I want the victims to have the option to face their attacker. And for a trial by their peers, DNA testing, and a verdict rendered. Well, I guess it doesn't matter. He's out anyway. Moot point.

Don't declare the entire Me Too movement dead just because the current leader of the country hasn't been successfully punished.

You want the civil authorities to pursue it? I'm afraid they're too busy having sled races on mountains made out of untested rape kits, when they're not smacking their spouses around or telling women to stop dressing like sluts as an anti-rape precaution. 9_9
