Our feelings about Trump are unimportant. Our nation, civilization, and planet are all dying. We have bigger things to worry about.

I'm sorry but piecemeal armchair philosophy is more how I'd describe a lot of your approaches rather than conveying facts.clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 10:13 pmTrump is actually one of the most peaceful presidents since WW2. I would consider that an achievement as I am a peace loving man. Only Carter and Ford rank alongside him. Don't take my word for it, here's Reuters: https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-fact ... He sure kept his word about trying to build a wall, but I have no interest in that proposal despite how stupid it is to start something like that when we have 4-year term limits and a revolving party door for the Oval Office.
Otherwise all he’s ever done is remark praise for his job.
Isn't it funny what you discover when you actually go searching for facts over feelings?
You boasted about non-vaccine herd immunity and proceeded to change your tune upon getting Covid and remarking how serious it is. We all had the facts then.

Nope. Someone who thinks Trump is great and did nothing wrong, is an idiot that nobody should pay any attention to. Someone who thinks Trump is an idiot, is great and does nothing wrong. It is very important to distinguish between the two, because you should listen to one, while you should do all you can to keep the other away from positions of power.
Nations are dying one way or another, it's just a question of time and not too long ago, nations didn't even exist and people weren't particularly bothered by it. Civilizations changed and change all the time, that is nothing to be worried about in and of itself. And our planet is doing fine, will be doing fine for another couple billions of years. The ecosystem will and is changing dramatically, but life will go on with or without us and I am fairly certain that humanity will survive the death of nations, the death of the current civilzations and even the death of the current ecosystem by quite a margin, though our lifestyle will change drastically and the biggest worry will be, wether we manage to overcome the great filter and settle the stars or miss our chance and ride out our existence here, evolving ourselves endlessly away from what we currently are, until any sort of cosmic catastrophe ends all life on this planet.

I was primarily referring to Trump's mode of communication, particularly with the Twitter rallying. Of a matter of public interest I found it pretty egregious and inherently divisive. That coupled with his misinformation that stemmed equally in part distracting out of his own mouth and his administration. All just a matter of him doing great things for his country.

This was unexpectedly revering. I mean I'm referring more to the second part.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 12:11 amNope. Well, I didn't say that, did I? Merely the other side claims he kept his promises, and he might have in some small ways. But even if he did, it doesn't matter given his polarizing reputation and that yes, eighty million people chose not to go with him a second time. I do agree with the points about how he drove turnout and that it was irresponsible campaign spending, but at the end of the day, I don't think there was some mass voter fraud. Even many right libertarians I know admit it wouldn't have been enough, if there was any, to change the outcome. Whether he did or not, I don't know, but I don't want him to run again given his polarizing reputation and that I want us to have more unity, less division, and whether by his words or presence, whether it is his actions or those around him, he is a divisive figure and I don't want that. We don't need it. For the reasons Frustration listed. To confront the challenges of the future. But he could run again in 2024. A lot of people say it. I DON'T WANT HIM TO. But he could. I hope not! But who knows...Madner Kami wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 12:11 am Nope. Someone who thinks Trump is great and did nothing wrong, is an idiot that nobody should pay any attention to. Earth will be fine. Humans are a very minor blip during the life of Earth. Everything we are doing to this planet will heal eventually even if takes hundreds of thousands if not millions of years. Earth is not dying.Frustration wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 10:21 pm Our feelings about Trump are unimportant. Our nation, civilization, and planet are all dying. We have bigger things to worry about.
This whole thing about Earth and humans isn't really about Earth but our way of life and human life.
Severe climate change like for example, no polar ice caps will raise the ocean level by 200 feet which would flood alot of heavily populated areas. That would displace humans into smaller land mass. Complete destruction of historical landmarks and so forth. Not to mention alot of people would die before all of that even happens.
I got nothing to say here.

Because one time I referred to Clearspira as "White Hetero Male Fragility". This was from when I pointed out that the third season of DISCO was the very first season of any Trek to NOT feature a white heterosexual male in the main cast. He got really upset over that factoid, accusing the Trek producers of committing hate crime or something. That's how I got a two-month ban. I didn't object to it.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 05, 2021 5:30 amWhy do you hate the guy?Yukaphile wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 6:26 pm The only shitty person I see is Makeshift Python, and I'd like to add, I may not hate Fuzzy Necomancer, but I sure do hate Makeshift Python. But that's not really part of this topic, so let's leave it at that.

poparena is an equally horrible person. I've said that before.
