My mom will turn 74 the same month as my birthday, November, in a few months. She's gone out without masks as well, when we go shopping. She has not been as hurt as you may think based on cable news "reports." For her, COVID may as well not even EXIST.

I don't even know where to begin.

At least Biden's finally putting a teensy weensy foot down and we're getting a vaccine mandate. It's too late to achieve true herd immunity, but it's better than nothing.

Yeah, what do they intend to do to people who don't want it? Like Joe Sisko on DS9? Drag 'em down and FORCE them to get a vaccine? And I actually had mine, so I'm not afraid of it. But I can UNDERSTAND where someone WOULD go that route. Because I have that empathy for people and willingness to adapt to change my viewpoints because I care. As I said in another thread, the institution, not the philosophy, of science has rotted like everything else, so HOW can we trust it? A legitimate question, if you ask me. It's kinda funny you endorse brute-thug tactics in the name of public health AND science, but NOT national security, lol. What if the offending person is black? Or a woman? Do they intend to force it on them then? Naw. I kinda suspect they won't. Do you think we should? That is the world we live in.

My dude, I've been putting up with so much bullshit for a year and a half because a bunch of whiners won't get a little prick on the arm. Thanks to the procrastination from anti-vaxxers, we have LOST the chance for herd immunity. If I could, I would go around administering vaccines with a Hecate-damned dart gun.

I am sick and tired of people too selfish and foolish to accept a FREE vaccine during a pandemic. If that offends you, go stand over one of the cremation fires in India that are operating 24/7 at maximum capacity until you choke on the smoke.

You know what, I'll let somebody more eloquent speak on my behalf.

I was never an anti-vaxxer, I felt they were operating on a flimsy rationale (they really thought it was a chemical, not a dead strain of the viral variant for your immune system to adapt to), but at the same time, I feel like AT THIS POINT, it's an insane overreaction. It's being completely blown out of proportion for political purposes, possibly TO try to just make them all conform like good little drones. Remember, these social causes are not like the old days of yore. It's not about making money, or good leadership, it's about SOCIAL CAUSES. They WANT to get people jabbed to MAKE SURE they see vaccines are harmless, to single out their political enemies. I think among one of the reasons last year, that was one of the goals, past removing Trump, you know, and Trump is awful, sleazy rich guy, never cared about us, can admit that, but frankly, their methods are just as bad or WORSE than the GOP. Anti-vaxxers, for the DNC, are a serious concern for the future, they've said this before. By making a mountain out of a mole hill, they can lay huge blame on the feet of them and get them jabbed. It won't open their eyes, their heels are going to just dig in EVEN MORE. And frankly, I think the LONGER the Democrats drag THEIR heels on this, the worse it gets for them in 2022 and 2024. As I said, I don't intend to vote, but it is DESTINED to be a red wave for this reason. Even I can admit the Democrats are the lesser of two evils here. That should scare the shit out of you. Their own political fanaticism and systematic brainwashing of well-meaning idiots is turning many, many more against them. But then you probably don't see them as the majority, since the left's excuse is gerrymandering and you know, I'd like electoral reform, but this country is conservative, you need to wake up and begin seeing that. And I guess I've finally seen conservative doesn't mean the devil. We're taught that from a young age. No more.

So certain people can only ruin your evening, instead of your entire day?

Presumably so he doesn't start drinking early.

I log in around midnight almost every day. Usually with a beer in hand. Believe me it works better.

I get home at midnight due to my long ass daily schedule.
I got nothing to say here.
