Live with a man 40 years. Share his house, his meals. Speak on every subject. Then tie him up, and hold him over the volcano's edge. And on that day, you will finally meet the man.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 3:53 am You don't truly know someone until you fight them to the death.
Of course, due to convection effects, the man will be quite thoroughly roasted. But that's a small price to pay for knowledge!

Re: Prequel Trilogy vs the Matrix Trilogy
Although the level of quality varies in each of the trilogies (the first Matrix film is great, the other sequels are awful, while in the case of the Prequels the first two are meh while the third is merely good), I'd say the SW prequels were better, because they're rewatchable, they do add new things to the already established universe and they manage to be entertaining, while the Matrix films have a tendency to overindulge themselves to the point they come across as super-pretentious artsy films thinking they're smarter than they actually are, which made me quit halfway through the third film and only saw the ending on YT. Hell, the Animatrix series fleshed out the worldbuilding much better than the other two sequels, which, let's face it, the only new things they bring to the table are BDSM rave parties, some television guy and mech walkers that must have been designed as a 1st of April joke. The Prequels manage to at least create a satisfying finale, even if the story that leads to said finale was seriously flawed, while the Matrix trilogy ending just feels like they had no idea how to end the story, so they literally created a Deus Ex Machina, and then they just ended the film with what I assume it was some deleted scene from one of the previous films.
To put it bluntly, the Prequels kept tripping and falling, until they finally got their shit together, too little too late, but at least they gave a good but not great conclusion, while the Matrix Prequels tripped and nosedived straight into a puddle, where they drowned in the mud.
