I'm honestly excited about this. People may say the franchise is tapped out, but that's because they long reached the point where it wasn't even from the ass of Clive Barker and the Cenobites degenerated into generic demons. I'd also really like to see the "Angels to Some" angle fleshed out, which is one area the films haven't really explored.

Kinda surprised Jamie Clayton was cast as Pinhead, I would have thought she would be given the role of final girl. No disrespect to her as I LOVED her in Sense8 which is likely why I can't see her as Pinhead as I'm use to seeing her as a heroic character. I'd be happy to be proven wrong and, at the very least, it will be interesting to see her take on a rather iconic character. And hey, a Trans actor getting a chance to play one of THE Icons in Horror, go Clayton!!!
Re: New Hellraiser Movie
Pinhead had a presence. The way he just stood there, talked in his booming voice. I wonder how that will be done with a female version of her. Will they give her an altered voice like how it was done with Gould females in Stargate? Or is she going to do a pure feminine voice. Speaking sweet nothings?Winter wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 4:09 am Kinda surprised Jamie Clayton was cast as Pinhead, I would have thought she would be given the role of final girl. I think Pinhead was female in the original novella, so this could be a sign that this adaptation will stick closer to the book.

I am going to be honest. I had no idea this was based on a novel.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 4:26 am I think Pinhead was female in the original novella, so this could be a sign that this adaptation will stick closer to the book.
After I posted my last post I did think of altered female voices that could sound creepy. The best I got so far was the one used for the female Venom in the first movie. It had a bit of a purr to it too.
I got nothing to say here.

The novel is called "The Hellbound Heart" if you're interested.

I thought there wasn't any Pinhead in the original novel. There was a Cenobites with pins in their head but not in the way shown in the film.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 4:26 am I think Pinhead was female in the original novella, so this could be a sign that this adaptation will stick closer to the book.

I thought they were close enough to be the same character. I mean, Pinhead didn't even have a name in the first movie, he was just "Lead Cenobite".

Re: New Hellraiser Movie
technically, 'Pinhead' is a fan nickname, which Barker allegedly despises.

Well he thinks of them as Satanic/Angelic monks of a dimension of pain that transcends good vs. evil labels.
