Coronavirus - the new pandemic

Said what's up to a Costco employee today. We were outside but he was giving a fervent rant about the lockdown without a mask on like 5 feet away from. Wasn't too much of an issue having just realized what he was doing, but I felt a spittal on my eyelid right when he got around to Newsome.

Equal parts put off by conservative rhetoric and kinda worried he infected me.

And 400,000 in the U.S. alone.

We need William Hurt to go visit Donald Trump and simply ask this:

And... Trump doesn't give a fuck that is probably a given. At least Biden is in charged now.

If anyone wants to watch the new Frontline documentary about how China fucked up the pandemic in the early days, you can watch it here

Conservatives are having a field day about the government telling people to wash their hands.

Putting in place moderately effective methods for preventing spread of a virus, but not very effective methods, is only selecting for more virulent strains that can propagate and survive even in hostile situations.

It's like taking some, but not all, of the required dose of antibiotics to wipe out a bacterial infection.

This isn't going to go away. It's not going to be driven extinct. We're not going to some up with an injection that makes it a non-issue. It's a permanent feature of our world now.

No, some measures are better than none. Antibiotic resistant drugs are a whole different kettle of fish.

You seem to undermine the limits of organized society when going short of comitting an act of god in order to fight this thing.

There was nothing new to me in this, but some of you desperately need to read or listen to this interview. Most importantly: the vaccines have no effect on whether the recipient will spread the disease to others, it merely reduces severity of infection.

Well does it take a whole interview to learn that?

Nope. But when vaccination is mandatory for schoolchildren, and various local governments are in the process of repealing mask mandates, we really have to ask ourselves if our species deserves to live.
