No, not because they've decided to kill the series and erase all traces. No, this is just pure greed, as it's still available on Paramount+, and Paramount+ is set to launch globally sometime in 2022.

Re: Discovery Pulled from Netflix
Rumours is Netflix was never happy with the viewing figures for Disco. I dont know how true that is because rumours are rumours, but streaming services don't release their figures for a reason: streaming isn't actually very profitable.
I was thinking about this the other day as it happens. Let's say for the sake of argument that a cinema ticket costs fifteen bucks. And let's also say for the sake of argument that 5 dollars went to the cinema, 5 to the studio, and 5 to the distributor. That's a guaranteed 5 dollars for the person making the film right?
Well, with streaming, the individual product itself doesn't make any actual money because the customer is paying for a subscription fee. Every product on that service is drawing from only one pool of money. The 20 dollars you pay each month pays for Disco AND literally everything else.
In other words, Netflix's direct profit for Disco would actually have come from the licensing deal with CBS. If CBS were paying Netflix pennies for a product that isn't popular (again, if the rumours are true) then there is nothing in it for them to continue showing it.
But that is just my two cents.

And nothing of value is lost. Netflix is much better off without that flaming dumpster fire known as Star Trek Discovery.
