It's confirmed that season 6 will only have 6 episodes. Air date will be December 10th.
Also, teaser trailer just dropped:

Looks like they'll also adapt parts from the Laconia storyline, saw somewhere mentioned that at the very least some parts from the Strange Dogs novella might be involved, though I imagine they'll end the series with the implication that the last three books will be adapted somehow.

I hope we get to see Inaros die, before the series ends.

Well, that's certainly a weird creature, you could almost say, a... strange dog.

Really hope this isn't like Game of Thrones where the creators just want to move onto something else.Mabus wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 8:24 pm It's confirmed that season 6 will only have 6 episodes. Air date will be December 10th.

I will be pissed if it is. Again.
I got nothing to say here.
Re: The Expanse - Season 6
Episode 1 is up.
-The intro on Laconia was great, finally something that looks a bit more alien than planet Canada.
-I guess Marco decided to wait until the got most of the Belt on his side before ramping up the asteroid attack on Earth? Did he need more resources, people? Does he even have enough stealth composites?
-Drummer's family is breaking apart, though it does feel a bit cheap.
-Now there's an asteroid spotter ship, is it gonna be Marco's first gunship from S4, or did they abandon the CGI model for that.
-Where is Bull? Not even a mention. At least they stated that Dawses is dead, I guess he's not needed anymore at this time in the story.
-Earth and Mars better launch an attack on Marco soon, or I'll get tired of being blueballed with just a few quick battles.
Overall, while not as strong as other episodes, it's still a strong start, and hopefully it won't end like the previous one, aka becoming boring until the very end.

Episode 2:
-Aww, poor bird, I guess the parents were too busy with work to tell their kids how to interact with local fauna and not injure themselves or others... even though they've lived there long enough that Cara considers it home, so they should know better, even on Earth you tell your kids to not eat anything they see in your own damn garden, how is this any different... parenting 10/10, great job
-Filip did nothing wrong, Marco being Marco, but then again, this was to be expected; I really hope though that Filip isn't going to shoot Marco in the back, that would be stupid
-Roci getting help from a UN ship, they could have at least give them a new paint job xD
-Oof, so now it's Holden and Bobbie that will find out about the Ring gate disappearances and not Naomi? And speaking of...
-Naomi gets PTSD from the last time she tried to jump to another ship in space. So far, her character hasn't done anything of significance other than moping around, I really hope she does something important in the last 4 episodes, cause so far Cara has a more interesting arc, and so far she only appeared onscreen for like like 5 minutes.
-Drumer is secretly planning a new fleet of pirates, that should be interesting
-OK, seeing the Roci getting slightly burned by the drive cone of the Azure Dragon was pretty sweet
-The chase scene was good, though I don't understand why they couldn't just fire that EMP device at the ship using a drone or something
-How the hell did Marco manage to place that many drives on so many asteroids, there must be like 50 at least, he's only taken control of the Belt for 6 months, did no one on Earth see the Belters doing shady stuff?
-Holden chews out Clarissa by telling her she's part of the crew now
-Lmao, Avasarala is literally telling the reporter Monica to report actual facts
-Marco upon seeing his plans falling apart: "This was my plan all along!"
2 down, 4 more to go.

Re: The Expanse - Season 6 (SPOILERS!)
Episode 3:
-The alien bird is back, but it's not all right though, and the girl's brother is dead, I guess it's clear what will happen next; as a side note, I get they're trying to set up the Laconia side plot, but the entire Cara scenes feel so out of place, I think the "Strange Dogs" story would have worked better as a stand alone film, but then again I suppose Amazon didn't want to pay more money for that.
-Welp, Marco pulled the old trick of "I shot the man, but it's your fault if you can't stitch him up and save him" on Ceres, in an effort to stall the UN-MCRN coalition
-"This feels like a trap" I'm more surprised how they were able to flee without getting spotted from afar
-Also, weee, that Martian captain from S3, Kirino, is back, and she's an Admiral now, I guess after the Martian mass desertion and her service in the war she's up the rank. Where's her XO though, maybe he fled through the gate, heh
-Amos and Bobbie having a shitty meat and talking about better food; also, Cant being mentioned. Yup this episode will have lots of callbacks.
-Ah, so they're giving Naomi the subplot about the ships vanishing in the Ring, good, at least now she'll have something else to do besides being angry and having panic attacks.
-Oof, looks like Marco's plan to stave the Belters isn't going as well as he though he was, even Filip is angry at him
-Marco should just tattoo his unofficial motto on his ship: "You can't lose if you keep denying that you ever lost"
-Ah, Anna is back, in a green screen video, but still, good to see that the show hasn't forgot about her
-And the Belters are bickering again; and Drummer now has her own mini-fleet
-Marco goes full Captain Ahab on Roci
-Prax! Guess they decided to just dump all the cameos in this episode and be done with it; also, he now has a super-plant that will solve world hunger
-Lol, Holden you were just resting your eyes, weren't you xD
-Martian's brain is as small as Phobos, his head even looks like that rock
-Ah, the Google Translate version of the future
-Wait, what, you're telling me that no one on the UN or MCRN decided to verify if the docks were rigged to blow/sabotaged, even though you damn well know that this happened before and Marco doesn't care that he would kill civilians if he could kill Dusters? WTF, you people just go in enemy territory and expect everything to be alright? Jeesh.
-Ah, a Star Wars reference, the Milennium Falcon targeting grid
-OK, that was a pretty sweet space battle, and one that you could easily understand, and once again, spinning is a good trick.
-Dammit Holden, you had to be Holden right now? Just to save Filip? No one likes the guy. At least you could have alerted the Earth fleet about Marco's position, since you're already on route towards Ceres.
-Oooooh, you called Marco on his failures, not that everyone didn't know who's really at fault here.
-Huh, looks like the Laconians are giving Marco some new toys, RSR-G6, like the design, looks like a sword, is it covered in protomolecule skin or something? Curious what sort of weapons it has.
Alas, three more episodes.

Re: The Expanse - Season 6 (SPOILERS!)
So yeah, the series finale aired this week-end, and I gotta say, while it's not the greatest, it works. It's nice to finally see a series that stuck its landing. My only concern is when or if the final three books will be adapted, and how. Because after nearly half an hour of seemingly pointless Laconia scenes this season, it would suck monumentally if the rest of the series isn't adapted.
My only issue is that it's pretty clear that by shorting the season to just 6 episodes, the resolution of most plots feel rushed. I think one or two more episodes would have made made some of the plots flow more smoothly. For example, I got some serious GoT S7-S8 flashbacks with the whole Marco and his merry fleet heading for the Ring after abandoning Ceres, since if in the previous seasons it took like 1-3 months to get from the Inner planets towards the Ring, here it just so happens in the same episode. At one point he somehow runs into Roci, then after losing the space battle, he limps away, and somehow doesn't get spotted by the UN-MCRN fleet, even though the Roci was heading towards Ceres, where the Inner fleet was stationed. Then Drummer got a hold of Marco's secret supply depots, and manages to get them to Ceres, then is able to catch up to the rest of Marco's fleet, and even Marco himself who disguised his ship to eliminate Drummer, which he somehow fails, despite having superior firepower and manages to seriously damage Drummer's ship. Then with the ship damaged from a kamikaze Belter ship, he still manages to reach the Ring despite having only two drives, while all the other Inner ships, somehow are still too far away. Also, stealth in space is a thing apparently, now you can't track ships even with their drives on apparently.
I'm starting to think that Amazon just gave up on the series, which is why they were only able to get 6 episodes, as opposed to the typical 10 or even 8. I keep reading that there just wasn't enough promotion on Amazon for the series. And I think this is because Amazon just though that, "well, the books end soon, and we need to promote series that won't end any time soon, which is why we'll instead promote Wheel of Time and The Boys, regardless how popular the show is". So while I have no doubt that both the producers and Alcon decided that they can't adapt the rest of the book series in TV series format because it would be just too expensive, I have a feeling that Amazon though the same, but decided that a shorter season would be cheaper.
At least the final scene with Holden being made president of the Transport Union and then resigning to allow Drummer to be in charge was something I liked, it was something different, while still being something 100% Holden would do.
