People like that love to go on about how the left are pushing cancel culture ignoring that not only are the right just as guilty but they technically invented it using tactics like banning books,. and remember what happened to the Dixie Chicks? Hell, from what I understand, this isn't the first time members of the Conservative side are trying to defund PBS over Sesame Street.

A recent example, an animated adaptation of the 99 Kuwaiti comic book was set to air on The Hub but was rejected after complaints from right wing outlets like Fox News complained about the show corrupting America's children with "Sharia propaganda" that caused the broadcaster to be paranoid about losing sponsors, so the show never aired.

There was no reference to Sharia law in the original comic or the show, it's just right wing outlets like Fox News fear mongering without any facts to back it up.

The closet connection to Islam is that the characters' powers come from mystical gems with each power being inspired by one of the 99 virtues of God within Islam. The comic's creator (who's critical of religious fundamentalism) intentionally kept many of the characters religious backgrounds ambiguous.

I'll confess something to you: I was meaning to post that on the thread about anti-vaxxers wearing gold stars and people there were arguing that the West wasn't devolving into a police state - and here it is, Biden threatening to put people underneath a bridge huddled around a barrel for warmth if you do not get vaccinated.
