Streaming TV

My wife loves her Roku, being able to watch any episode she likes of shows, but she was looking to add things like SyFy and AMC, not streaming live TV but being able to just go in and watch past episodes of their shows including the more recent stuff, but any time it's convenient (she needs time to play slots on her ipod after all). Any suggestions on options for that?

f you have amazon prime you can get what ever syfy has syndicated to it for free. example is S1 of the expanse, S2 is currently pay for only though

Netflix used to have a near-monopoly on web streaming but it's been slowly broken up among several services. But even with that, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime are still virtually the only games in town. A site like https://www.justwatch.com/us should give you an idea what services are needed to stream a given show.

Amazon allows you a la carte purchases or rentals of shows not available on the Prime service (which is a bit costly) and Netflix apparently STILL lets you do the mail-order DVD rental thing, though it's a separate service now from their streaming service.

Hulu, meanwhile, has commercials. Even if you pay for their premium service. Yup.

Hulu now won't let you watch anything on the free accounts. That really ticked me off.

Fragmentation is only going to get worse with YouTube jumping into the fray now. And it's only a matter of time before too many people pay into CBS's scheme to make everyone pay $84 / yr to watch Star Trek with commercials.

a lot of times your internet/cable service will have an online streaming service. For example comcast has the xfinity tv website
