Maybe she learned it from some traveling Wookie who stayed on the planet.

But yeah no idea about swimming. You generally don't waste water like that in a desert unless you are super rich.
I got nothing to say here.

Pfft it's obviously one of the Rebels that shagged a Ewok during a drunken stupor during the party after the Death Star. When debris began to fall on the planet causing planet wide devestation, that rebel lost her Ewok fuck buddy.

Then after Rey was born, to fix her mixed heritage, her mother had to get plastic surgery on Rey to make her look more human. But that stigma stuck so she ditched Rey.

And thus is the reason why Rey carried a stick with her. Pure Ewok instinct.

I don't know. You sure you have the parentage in the right order?

Unlike the Death Star, Endor is indeed a moon.

No, no. Endor's the planet, but the action takes place on the forest moon of Endor.

So which planet does the Death Star crash on for TROS? Endor or the Moon of Endor?

A different moon of Endor. From Wookieepedia:
Several years after Disney's 2012 acquisition of Lucasfilm Ltd., the official Star Wars Twitter account made a post giving the canon explanation that the Rebels set up shields and tractor beams to protect the moon from debris from the second Death Star. The 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker depicts that the remains of the second Death Star fell on the ocean moon of Kef Bir, located in the Endor system.

I like that bit: it took them until 2012 in a random Twitter post to explain how the Death Star didn't wipe out the Ewoks. That is terrible writing.

Well:
-> The twitter post was in 2016.
-> There was a bunch of discussion about this in the early aughts, and the "original" excuse was the death star was thrown into hyperspace or something. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Endor_disaster
