I remember reading Planet X. IIRC, Picard met a holographic Professor X. I enjoyed the book, but it wasn't one of my favorites like "The Wounded Sky."
I was really disappointed in the Borg+Cybermen comic crossover. The Borg just didn't seem nearly menacing enough. It probably was post-Voyager, though, so...

First look at the new Doctor’s outfit, what do people think?

I don’t like it; too 80s for my taste, but to be fair the Doctor is a time traveller so there’s no good reason she should conform to our ‘current’ fashion trends - from her perspective 1980s style is just as current and outdated as 2010s style.

Don't like it at all.

It's not as bad as 6's outfit but the doctor has almost always worn something for an eccentric gentleman apart from that brief stint in leather for 9.

I see the suspenders with the too high trousers and I'm immediately thinking of someone with mental health issues. I can already see someone photoshopping the autism hat on top of this one.

Edit: Yep.

Colin Baker called, he says you can never wear anything as gaudy and repulsive as his outfit. Ever.
But it's a close second place..

I feel we can all be agreement that it is not as bad as literally the worst Doctor's outfit ever.

Also an improvement on Mork's rainbow suspenders look.

The rainbow suspenders would at least be quirky fun. They could have used 7th's suspenders; there's no history apparent here. And I agree the suspenders with the high waist and floods give a bad impression.

Yeah, what this discussion really needs is some making fun of people with disabilities.

Anyway...

I don't really have a problem with this. Does it look goofy? Yes. Has the Doctor often looked goofy? Also yes.

I mean, its the Doctor, for God's sake. Odd fashion choices are virtually obligatory.

Fashion preferences are largely subjective, but while I can't speak for anyone here, I suspect, based on my experiences with fandom (both Who and generally), that a lot of the criticism of this is for the wrong reasons:

1. People hating the fact that the Doctor is female, and thus latching on to any pretext to attack the new Doctor.

2. The generic "They changed it so its ruined!" knee-jerk fan bullshit you get every time there's a change to the show, and thus latching on to any pretext to attack the new Doctor.

3. People expecting that the Doctor be sexy (probably mostly people who started with the new series, and probably amplified by sexist expectations now that the Doctor is a woman).

Now, I'll be the first to admit that suspenders and a Badass Longcoat are a very odd mix, but that's hardly going to ruin the show for me.

The way I see it, when you combine this with the larger number of Companions, it looks like Chibnall is trying to evoke Old Series Who. That's... a questionable choice, since overreliance on nostalgia tends to be a sign of creative bankruptcy, and Who's success in particular is probably largely due to its ability to reinvent itself, in my opinion. However, it may be that they're relying on nostalgia to make the big change easier for reluctant fans by surrounding it with the safely familiar.

Edit: Then again, it also risks alienating a lot of the New Series fans. So maybe there's no grand calculation here. Maybe Chibnall's just being a big Old Who fan.

I don't care about sexy, but I like my Doctor to dress classy. Like 9 or 10. One reason I could never stand Matt Smith's Doctor.
This? This looks like what a Blue Peter presenter in 1980 would wear.
