KKK remains a major player

This is for topical issues effecting our fair world... you can quit snickering anytime. Note: It is the desire of the leadership of SFDebris Conglomerate that all posters maintain a civil and polite bearing in this forum, regardless of how you feel about any particular issue. I don't work for the FBI or other counter terrorism organization. I do not, as part of my job as a researcher in public policy, keep track of hate crimes, domestic terrorism, or other instances in which the KKK would be attributed as the cause.

I don't know how much off hand information you expect when asking, "can anyone name something they have done" like you are trying to point out how irrelevant an up and coming indy director is. You come off as someone who is not taking the situation seriously.

All that being said I can explain some perspectives on terrorism related to the KKK that I casually encountered years ago.

Around 2010 the KKK was considered passe, that new age skin heads and other fascist organizations were the new hotness, and the KKK was seen as a sort of "Grandpa's hate group". You can even see the early development of this sentiment appearing in the movie "American History X" where the Klan is mocked by the skinheads.

However, these new groups have failed to create anything more substantive than the KKK and have in many ways acted as a sort of feeder system to the KKK. White nationalists have and continue to infiltrate the Military, law enforcement, and mobilize with armed militias, the KKK might not be what they call themselves, but it is a bit like RC Cola instead of Coca Cola Classic, it is all the same shit.

Now, we are just days past the 1-year anniversary of the attempted coup of the US government by various White nationalist sentiments in the US. To directly attribute such things to the Klan would be silly, but to say that it was not the culmination of anti government white nationalist behavior would be fucking stupid.

I don't have a problem with you saying any of that - that's a reasoned, informed response to the claim that they're an irrelevance. Other than the part where you say "You come off as someone who is not taking the situation seriously." The only thing I've not taken seriously is someone who seems to think that not regarding them as an issue (possibly through not being up to date on how influential they are now) is equivalent to supporting racism. I attacked that because I see similar attitudes all the time - "You're not saying exactly what I think (which is inevitably a very over simplified view of the world), therefore you're the opposite extreme!" It's brainless, and I'm rather sick of it.

Yeah, that is a stupid thing to fixate on when this topic is brought up.

That is why people think you are just some racist troll trying to waste everyone's time.

If you don't have anything to contribute but playing victim then just shut up.

The modern internet is too black and white in its thinking to have a balanced view on anything. Regardless, I stick by what I said: fixating on the few remaining KKK members when there are millions of racists being beamed into every home is missing the forest for the trees.

edited: Sorry I was on a phone earlier and it came out kind of stilted.

There was a big break down here, as arguments, as they stem from each fuzzy and Spira, in that each of them can tend to come off kinda vague to the same degree. Like, there's a lot of weight to what Fuzzy memes out as articles for consideration, while clearspira kinda questions things without understanding the general weight that Fuzzy's drawing from.

And I'm not sure I can totally blame cs there, though I don't feel Fuzzy's point is beyond general understanding.

The questioning appears to me to come from simply not taking as read any claim about anything that's bad - it's bad, so accuracy doesn't matter. And draw someone out on that and you get the pathetic abuse I received, a stark illustration of how closed-minded hatred begins and festers. Intolerance of any sort of questioning or digging in to the details is the root of so many of our problems, problems exemplified by certain posters. Both Fuzzy and Clearspira will engage.

Forgive me Riedquat, but that's a load of crap. On my world, the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is when good men do nothing. I stand up to guys more powerful than I am all the time. You can do the same.

btw that wasn't me projecting that's just an exchange between Superman and president Slade Wilson.

On what griounds are you talking about doing nothing, not standing up?

I was actually verging more on the immovable object meeting an unstoppable force. In the first place at least.

You seemed to describe fuzzy, I’m assuming, but both their particular behaviors are effectively fungible in this case. So why not address the ulterior condition.
