I watched TFA at least 10 times back when it was out but stopped after TLJ, I've watched TLJ 3 times (once in theaters, once when it was on Blu-Ray and once for my review for it) and I've watched ROS once and while I do plan to watch it again that is only for my review/comparison between it and The Last Command from TTT.
The Reylo "Friendship" Kiss
Re: The Reylo "Friendship" Kiss
I got nothing to say here.
Re: The Reylo "Friendship" Kiss
Given how TRoS can best be described as "it's the last film, so we'll throw everything we can at the screen no matter how stupid, hopefully no one will notice that nothing makes sense", it's pretty clear that the kiss only exists to appease Reylo shippers, since at this point why not.
And honestly, I can't even get mad at them, it's like that scene from "Monk" where the titular character throws a grenade in a fridge, runs away, then returns to reposition the grenade in the fridge, then runs away before the grenade explodes.

Re: The Reylo "Friendship" Kiss
It's probably important.
It's a stark difference between Vader and Ren. Vader wanted to save Padmé which led to his overture in place of Anakin Skywalker. Ren on the other hand had not been following his passion and had just been acknowledging it nipping at his heels. After all, it was not him who was getting the connections, but Snoke connecting them, all while he was just appeasing Snoke's wishes in the first place so that he could become Vader as evident in how he outsmarts Snoke.

Re: The Reylo "Friendship" Kiss
Even though I think it is quite a stretch for Disney (or whoever) to try to claim that there was nothing romantic between Kylo and Rey, I would say that there is a sizable contingent of people opposed to Reylo being a thing for reasons which are serious enough to actually influence the way they approach the franchise.Hero_Of_Shadows wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 2:39 pm Yes it is hilarious, was there really such a big potential fandom that was "yes I love the ST I want books and games and etc but only if they make it clear Reylo isn't a thing!"?
That's because for most of the first two films Kylo has a pretty overt toxic/abusive relationship with Rey. Now I'm not a person who is particularly affected emotionally by this, but I certainly think it's a valid criticism and I can understand why to a lot of people Reylo is not simply a thing that they don't like on an "aesthetic" level in the same way that I might think, for instance, that Star Trek Discovery is not to my liking, but they think it's genuinely harmful to people in the real world to ultimately present Rey as willingly and happily reciprocating romantic affection for Kylo.
