Re: Book of Boba Fett Thread
I was initially excited about Cad Bane in live action, but now I'm just... he's going to get unceremoniously killed by one of these freaking c-list antiheroes, isn't he? He's so hilariously out of their league that there's no way to take it seriously.

For those who haven't seen Clone Wars: Cad Bane fought against Anakin and Obi-Wan in their prime to a draw on several occasions. If you've seen Chuck's SWTOR Bounty Hunter playthrough, basically that. Meanwhile the Mandalorian cast are so far below a Jedi's power level that Luke's cameo in season 2 was like the striking hand of God.

He could be captured, or only wounded. He and FEnnec has a history, plus count dooku was capture by pirates just because they are not in the same league doesn't mean you should count them out.

What if he were bested by the Mandalorian? Or by Boba Fett? Or by Ahsoka or even Luke?hammerofglass wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 4:21 pm I was initially excited about Cad Bane in live action, but now I'm just... he's going to get unceremoniously killed by one of these freaking c-list antiheroes, isn't he? I think the point of that was to build up how powerful Luke was, not to downplay the ability of the rest of the characters.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 10:32 pm For those who haven't seen Clone Wars: Cad Bane fought against Anakin and Obi-Wan in their prime to a draw on several occasions. Put differently, I think that episode was not about the weakness of the cast, but the power of the Dark Troopers. Would Cad Bane have faired any better against the Dark Troopers than any of the best of them?

Re: Book of Boba Fett Thread
We'll see. I've been pleasantly surprised by the shows many times; loved Maul's sendoff, for instance. Hell, Bane might side with them for all I know.
Honestly it's more a matter of not having any attachment to this version of Boba and fangirling over Bane than anything. Boba killed him in an unmade Clone Wars episode, so I kind of assume that's where this is going. But then, they know that a lot of people watching know that...

For comparison sake, I think you have to consider the choices people make to get into such positions. This guy seems like the type to not walk into trouble lightly. He probably wouldn't venture to the ship to save Grogu what not. The point not being that he doesn't care about Grogu, but that you wouldn't find him infiltrating a stronghold like that.Lazerlike42 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 12:53 amI think the point of that was to build up how powerful Luke was, not to downplay the ability of the rest of the characters.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 10:32 pm For those who haven't seen Clone Wars: Cad Bane fought against Anakin and Obi-Wan in their prime to a draw on several occasions. ..What mirror universe?
Re: Book of Boba Fett Thread
Well as someone who paid no attention to Clone Wars, I wondered why they were making such a big deal about the nose-less guy.
