Superman's a modernist. Socialism is more about equality where modernism influences prosperity in a somewhat religious sense.

Captain America is more about socialism in that he's an individual that tries to fulfill themselves best as they can for the whole.

So, Captain America is a socialist. Superman is an illegal alien. Wonder Woman is representing female empowerment (and is also an illegal alien, though more figuratively than Superman) and Batman is a stupidly rich person who actually does use his wealth to improve his local society directly and indirectly. None of which strike me as particularly representative of the US vOv

Wonder Woman is Old Testament. It's supposed to be more like Janeway in the Delta Quadrant as far as fitting principles of heroism. Superman is New Testament, and Batman is King James Version.

Well as if modern conservatives don't have their own disdain for the federal government. I'd think they're principally inclined to see him physically kick people around in the White House for occupational incompetence alone and all in the name of truth, justice, and the American way.

Their only problem with the federal government is that they do not control it.

Correct, liberals and conservatives are two groups that have the same fundamental framework for how the world works and how it should work. The primary difference is that conservatives think things were better in the past and liberals believe things as they are now are the best they could ever be. Superman is a fundamental defiance as he fundamentally comes from a place where the world and society can become better, that's why his most important, yet least used moniker is "The Man of Tomorrow".

I tend to see it more as conservatives trying to slow down time rather than subvert our present place backwards in it. To each their own though.

I don't know. Seems like liberal are more about things can be better.
I got nothing to say here.
