Greg Abbott is moving to investigate all parents of trans children as child abusers. (At least, ones that aren't in the closet because they knew if they were out as trans their parents would send them to conversion therapy or just kill them.)

I am never entering Texas... ever. That place is a complete write-off.

You know that means you're writing of the kids that are being abused by Abbott and his administration of monsters, right?ProfessorDetective wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:35 am I am never entering Texas... ever. That place is a complete write-off.
Like I'm legitimately thinking of moving out of state because of this, but that attitude is infuriating.

I meant on a societal level. Anyone who can get out should and I hope anyone who can't right now finds a way, eventually.Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 2:25 amYou know that means you're writing of the kids that are being abused by Abbott and his administration of monsters, right?ProfessorDetective wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 1:35 am I am never entering Texas... ever. But at this point the only way to stop these psychotic bozos currently in power is for them all to simultaneously drop dead. They're too rich, too entrenched, and have just enough public support that fighting them is near impossible.
Texas (along with Florida and Alabama) is a write-off. But, no, many TEXANS aren't and I wish them the best of luck fighting this or getting very far away from it.

I am going to go into perhaps Captain Obvious territory.
I always thought the more and more accepted the homosexual community gets the more focus on those who were formally anti-gay (or now just quiet) will focus more on the trans community.
Don't get me wrong, there is much work to be done for homosexuals to be fully accepted as can be evidenced by let's say the Eternals movie or any attempt to show a gay couple or a gay person in a shoe or movie. Let alone the daily shit they have to go through or government bullshit.
But it's steadily gaining ground. Trans community has detractors from even the feminist movement. They are called Terfs. Then you got the whole debate about trans woman playing in the woman league. Though there is less pushback for transmen competing in the male leagues. Just wanted to add that. Something to look into I think.
So it doesn't surprise me, the conservative states would try their hand into the trans community now.

I got nothing to say here.

Yeah. =/ There's also transphobic movements trying to break up solidarity among the LGBTQ because they identify the T as easiest to toss under the bus.

Without a doubt. I mean just take for example Terfs.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:41 am Yeah. =/ There's also transphobic movements trying to break up solidarity among the LGBTQ because they identify the T as easiest to toss under the bus.
I actually met one in real life. She was my neighbor for a couple of years. I wasn't even aware that was a thing either among feminists.
Then again she think there was no way that women could be the violent partner in a domestic violence situation.
I got nothing to say here.

Yeah the inherent violence of "males" as opposed to it just being a consequence of culture is a pretty big part of TERF rhetoric.

In her owns words, having men try to be women takes down everything that real women have been trying to fight for.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 5:18 am Yeah the inherent violence of "males" as opposed to it just being a consequence of culture is a pretty big part of TERF rhetoric.
Makes absolutely no sense.
I have said this before, I don't understand that mindset of being born in the wrong body, but I will respect it even I don't understand it. I know what shit they go through on a daily basis because I know a couple. Something as simple as going to the bathroom. Can't go in the female bathroom because they are not 'female' but go into the male bathroom and face ridicule.
I got nothing to say here.

Only because you don't see transgender women as invaders who seek to discredit and take advantage of the gains made by feminists.McAvoy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 4:23 amIn her owns words, having men try to be women takes down everything that real women have been trying to fight for.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 5:18 am Yeah the inherent violence of "males" as opposed to it just being a consequence of culture is a pretty big part of TERF rhetoric.
