Yeah the inherent violence of "males" as opposed to it just being a consequence of culture is a pretty big part of TERF rhetoric.
In her owns words, having men try to be women takes down everything that real women have been trying to fight for.
Makes absolutely no sense.
Only because you don't see transgender women as invaders who seek to discredit and take advantage of the gains made by feminists.
I don't. I don't even see that happening. I mean what the hell are these transwomen trying to discredit and take advantage of anyway? Gains? How do they apply to them?
Looks like they don't get any advantage in anything.

Exactly. A lot of terfs are the sort of people whole understanding of gender relations are centered around the idea there's a patriarchy that exists to keep women down. Mix in gender essentialism and hyperfocus on chromosomes, and well, you get "the men are invading!"
"I know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking 'Oh my god, that’s treating other people with respect gone mad!'" When I am writing in this font, I am writing in my moderator voice.

TERF is mainly based on the idea that being a subject of feminism depends on life experience. A lot of feminists have found solidarity through their life experiences serving as examples of what Feminism addresses.
Feminism on the other hand is mainly a broad take on how society is structured around women, inclusive of what they can expect for instance moving forward as a woman.
TIRF might be an extending rendition on the study of how woman stand in society, perhaps elaborative of the binary gender polarity, but nonetheless makes a lot of sense.

I figured as much. I did wonder if there was a element of misandry.

There's misandry but there's a lot of misogyny too. A lot of them take it as read that men are just better than women at everything and women can't really compete in any mixed field, so trans women in a women's space will just automatically dominate. Complete nonsense but it seems to be an article of faith.
...for space is wide, and good friends are too few.
