But then that means that they aren't a problem.

Really hoping this showing that you are finally getting it and won't backtrack seven pages from now on the same thing.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 2:51 amThat's exactly my point.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:55 amYeah and but what do you think about the fact that nobody takes those nutjobs seriously?Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 9:10 pm And I don't feel it is an immediate problem anymore, if people are so against police brutality, they advocate murdering police officers, then wile BLM may solve one problem, those who hold those beliefs and those who do not call them out have created a brand new problem.

Like I said, I do not think it is a huge threat anymore but it's still a problem period and since the police reform movement, wile very good, hasn't made all that much meaningful change, I fear all it's doing is making more people want to murder cops.McAvoy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 4:47 amReally hoping this showing that you are finally getting it and won't backtrack seven pages from now on the same thing.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 2:51 amThat's exactly my point.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:55 amYeah and but what do you think about the fact that nobody takes those nutjobs seriously?Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 9:10 pm And I don't feel it is an immediate problem anymore, if people are so against police brutality, they advocate murdering police officers, then wile BLM may solve one problem, those who hold those beliefs and those who do not call them out have created a brand new problem.

And to be clear, I came to realize I am against the institution of policing as it exists now, specifically because of my officer relatives.

Re: Okay, I'm sorry for Everything
I deleted my last post because I was overreacting but there are still some things I want to ask on principal.
What happened to the left being concerned about the mental health and suicide epidemic of police officers?
And people keep telling me that the cops are still massively respected but where is that? I still don't see that.
And it's clear that, even if police reform happens, a lot of people will still hate police just for being police.
Also, as an autistic person, the Facebook torture livestream still sticks in my head when people say that interpersonal racism doesn't hurt white people. Do people honestly think something like that cannot happen again?
I really just want to know how a lot of people on the left can do stuff like disrespect all cops simply for being cops or wish death on Donald Trump but I can't.
I have always felt hate is always bad and will only lead to ruin, no matter who it's directed at.

I don't recall it ever being a political issue.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 4:42 pm I deleted my last post because I was overreacting but there are still some things I want to ask on principal.

I'm not sure what you expect. Police do their jobs and people take their protection for granted. That alone is respect on a massive level. It's obviously not very charitable, but it's respectful that we give such trust to them. And people keep telling me that the cops are still massively respected but where is that? I still don't see that.
There's also a considerable amount of indifference, but it's not always undue.
Well it's fortunate that rules aren't being formulated based on what those people want or who they don't like. That's not how politics works. And it's clear that, even if police reform happens, a lot of people will still hate police just for being police.
White skin is basically speaking not a factor. That's all that means. Anybody can be subject to discrimination on the basis of innate attributes. Also, as an autistic person, the Facebook torture livestream still sticks in my head when people say that interpersonal racism doesn't hurt white people. Huh? Cops do a lot of bad shit. My city seems to have done a lot to get them out of the way by condition of general decency, but historically a lot of people are personally scared of cops for the way they carry out their jobs in a general manner, whether by traffic on the road or personal encounter when they are busy. Then there's the issue of police brutality.I really just want to know how a lot of people on the left can do stuff like disrespect all cops simply for being cops or wish death on Donald Trump but I can't.
Okay, but the people you complain about aren't being paid to do what they do. What they do is largely uneventful and doesn't change anything in society. Cops who carry guns and enforce public ordinance with sanctioned force have a much higher standard than influencers on the internet.I have always felt hate is always bad and will only lead to ruin, no matter who it's directed at.

And about your reply to my last point. The people who I complain about spreading hate with the idea that it's okay against certain people do and want to influence people.

As far as societal conventions go, white skin has never really been deemed a rooted basis for discrimination in America. That can't be said about being not white, being lgbt, being anything but non-denominational Christian, or having some sort of disposition such as autism.Dragon Ball Fan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 10:04 pmI'm not sure what you are saying in response to my point about the torture livestream.

For a number of those things you can be white as well, but that isn't a factor that people are looking for when they are trying to look at discrimination specifically. If a group of disparately connected white people are being discriminated against, then being white is most likely not a factor, or not a systemic/institutional/historical issue .

Yes, they are twitch and YouTube streamers who outright say that they want to influence the people watching to have the same values as them.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 11:09 pmAs far as societal conventions go, white skin has never really been deemed a rooted basis for discrimination in America. And the perpetrators of the torture livestream did it specifically because their victim was white. He was also autistic but they only picked an autistic kid because he was easier to ambush and kidnap. And as a fellow Autistic, I feel worried that others on the left don't seem to care about the possibility of this happening again.
