Fine that's your opinion but some of us still like this show.

Humbug!
Now that we've gotten that out of the way: do you think their using a classic Who monster, rather than coming up with something new, is an intentional strategy to woo back fans?

I like that they are bringing back a classic monster we haven't seen onscreen since 1983.

They did have a good response to bringing back the Zygons, back with 12.

Re: Legend of the Sea devils Trailer
Bringing back classic monsters every now and then is standard for the series at this point.
Not sure how I feel about the sea devils specifically, because every silurian/sea devil plot thus far has not impressed me with its conclusion. The time period makes it likely to just be another "go back into hybernation and nothing gets resolved" thing.
On the other hand, hot damn! Madam Chang! The legendary pirate queen! There's certainly a truckload of dramatic potential with that historical figure.

Re: Legend of the Sea devils Trailer
Gotta admit, I like how they recreated the Sea Devils look with modern effects. As much as I love Madame Vastra and many of the modern Silurian plots (still annoyed that we never got a Vastra and Jenny spin-off) the look of Silurians always bugged me. I get it, it was easier to make costumes that were more fitting for the actors and it's easier for us to relate to "aliens" if they look more human but their more humanoid looks always drew me out a little bit. Same thing with the Sontarans and the Cybermen, I never liked their new looks that much as they drifted a little to far from their original design.
But here, this looks like the OG Sea Devil just with modern effects and it looks pretty good.

I haven't watched the show for a while but this looks like a fun one!
