Frankly it just seems Dragon Ball Fan just want to act superior and can't accept that we aren't going to agree with him on that. I mean he literal made this thread as an apology for this kind of behavior and has burn off even the tiny tiniest amount of good will that got him. I once had a prolonged stint where I debated and even trolled vegans on YouTube ten years ago. Usually the ones I debated were the most holier than thou obnoxious vegans.

I grew out of it or got bored with it. The point is I never took these guys serious, and never felt that vegans should be better because of those bad apples.

Well if you feel that Goku represents you in your moral prerogative, then what are you thinking all the villains of Dragon Ball are supposed to represent? Your own personal demons? The whole point of the show is that the landscape lacks moral gravity, in which case you have people fighting on one side and the other.

actually, I may just idolize Goku because of his compassion, I have had some dark thoughts and impulses for a lot of my early life and he helped me be better.

Goku's passion alone has hardly to do with how he prevails. There's a tremendous aspect of fighting and confrontation that are involved in his conflicts, and it's not a matter of his pacifist ideals like compassion that leads him to prevail.

So weather they are monsters or people pushed to extremism by circumstance, I can't really empathize with people who do bad things on an emotional level because of my moralistic upbringing and in fact, it literally hurts to try and put myself in their shoes.

We are human beings, we're all monsters.

That moralistic upbringing I sense comes with the wisdom to do just that and the struggle placed there is how to work on that. It's not easy and I'm not saying to do a 180, but to not keep your heart so hard.

My parents weren't around in my formative years that much because of work so, I got the vast majority of my morality from the TV shows, I watched as a kid.

You may think that is childish but the values those shows promoted are so intrinsically linked which who I am, I can't really discard them, ever.

You can still work on your issues and that starts with a willingness to try.

And you're not a kid anymore, you don't have time to waste on this matter.

It's been months since I was in this thread, but I recall you're an adult who hasn't done much in life and struggles with that fact. Whatever you can criticize others for, they are doing things in their life, they are trying. Look up Roosevelt's "Man and in the Ring" speech.

It is commendable that you don't want to hurt people, but you can't sit in a bastion of isolation and inaction thinking you're better for it. Nothing good will come of that and you will pay for it.

I am trying to improve my situation but I'm dependent on others to do most of the work for me because of my disabilities. I also believe I have a savior complex and that is why I try to urge the left to improve because I can't do it myself.

And another thing that concerns me is that either explicitly or implicitly, a lot of leftists I see don't care about principals, they just care about defeating the right. Captain Sisko may have decided having a guilty conscience was better then having billions die in a devastating war but the point was, he DID have a guilty conscience.
