Ehhhhh....this is both true and misleading. Insufficient nutrients in breastfeeding turns out to have been the major cause of SIDS.

Baby formula turns out to be a massive unseen medical benefit.

Citation needed. And that a sizeable amount of women don't produce enough breast milk is a claim I find highly doubtful.

Why in the world would you find it doubtful?

There's plenty of information on it but I'm curious why you'd even find the claim doubtful.

https://www.thecut.com/2018/05/the-trut ... tfeed.html - 20% of women suffer disrupted lactation

https://www.chicagotribune.com/lifestyl ... story.html - 5% of women physically can't do it.

Mind you, I have a lot of contempt and hatred for the "only breastfeeding" psychopaths out there but even they talk about how plenty of women can't even as they're touting it all the time.

Frankly, I suspect doctors are providing women with diagnoses of "insufficient breastmilk" to permit them to use formula without guilt.

I admit I have the opinion of breastfeeding only advocates as the same as covid deniers. They're "all natural is better" pseudo-science scumbags who I wish would disappear into a black hole.

Mind you, being as my mother couldn't breast feed thanks to her own medical conditions and I would have died, I may be biased.

Because your claim is bullshit. If the numbers were anywhere close to what you claim them to be, humanity would be extinct by now. More serious sources claim 5% at most. Same for SIDS being primarilly caued by lack of nutrition in breast milk. No Idea where you get pipe-dreams like that from.

Also, breast-feeding is better for the child's health, due to the contact with the mother and the breast-milk transfering health-relevant antibodies.

I didn't say primarily, I said it contributed.

Also, "extinct now"? What the hell are you on about. Insufficient milk is a very common problem.

Your exact words were:
Insufficient nutrients in breastfeeding turns out to have been the major cause of SIDS.

I guess my post didn't go through.

Not bothering to retype the whole thing.

Just going to mention this novel concept, I am sure some of you never heard of it. It hasn't been around that long.

Wet nurse.
I got nothing to say here.

Wet nurses are why Freud came up with his ideas about children sexually desiring their parents, in fact. Rich people have been paying women to nurse the rich people's kids for a long, long time, and still did so until relatively recently.

But generally not because the rich woman couldn't produce enough milk. She simply didn't wish to. It's hard work.
