Thought they came out on fridays
Re: Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+
So I watched the third episode finally.
Big Darth Vader episode. Obi Wan definitely slipped in exercising his lightsaber skills. Makes sense. Been hiding for ten years and possibly cut himself off from the Force too. So he is rusty.
That and Vader had 10 years hone his abilities in the suit, create a new lightsaber technique, learn how to combat other Jedi and kill them. All of that.
I wonder how they plan on wrapping this series up. Darth Vader in ANH blatantly said Obi Wan was the Master and Vader was Learner last time they met. In this episode, you really cannot say that at all.
The episode keeps going with the idea that Jedi cannot help themselves when someone is in mortal trouble in which the Inquistors and Vader employ to draw them out.
I am not getting the outrage some have at this series.

I got nothing to say here.

Actually Obi-Wan used a tactic similar to one Vade ruse sin TESB, so Vader is very much still learning from him.

The only thing I've seen where they pointed to a specific complaint rather than just that everything new is bad was "there's a black woman in it".

I'm reminded of how in ANH, two of the Stormtroopers are talking about a new car they're interested in while Ben is sneaking around.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 2:41 pm There's something weird about the working-class stormtroopers in this. They're still treated as faceless goons you aren't meant to think of as people when they get gunned down but that just doesn't work when they're so humanized like this. It's something Mandalorian avoided by having them be irredeemable pricks you hate anyway, but these guys are just doing a job. Makes it a bit too real.

Kenobi is a bit like Lower Decks in it has all the outrage and the fans who live on this are going, "What are you talking about? This is great."hammerofglass wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 12:25 pmThe only thing I've seen where they pointed to a specific complaint rather than just that everything new is bad was "there's a black woman in it".

That was a car? I always thought they were getting issued a new rifle.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 12:37 pmI'm reminded of how in ANH, two of the Stormtroopers are talking about a new car they're interested in while Ben is sneaking around.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 2:41 pm There's something weird about the working-class stormtroopers in this. Only other things I've seen that comes up repeatedly which doesn't appear to be part of some race war, and the inevitable 'nuh huh, tiny minority, I don't like being called a racist due to guilt by association, evil disney smokescreen to distract totes legit critic, et all' is the Leia in the woods chase bit and 'cheesy dialogue'.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 12:25 pmThe only thing I've seen where they pointed to a specific complaint rather than just that everything new is bad was "there's a black woman in it".
To me that scene was about as inoffensive as you can get for something that supposedly so diabolically awful it makes the series objectively bad. Even more so when you compare it to some similar scenes in the, now beloved by these type of fans, Phantom Menace. As for the latter, again have you seen this franchise that you claim to be a fan of before?
