What I was saying is that a museum seems like rather generic undertaking, especially if it were repurposed from a palace. A better question would almost entail the cost of deconstructing the palace itself.

Versailles has an annual budget of 100 million euros and is self-funding enough to pay for operating costs. Best comparison I can think of. There's a detailed breakdown in the annual reports PDF. At least I'm pretty sure that's what those are, I don't read French or accountant.
