It's not so much a rumor as it is a comment I got from someone who talked to a cast-member at Epcot who heard from a friend of a friend of someone who heard Disney's CEO talking about a new park they plan to include a few years from now... So don't take this with a grain of salt, take this with a whole ROCK of Salt that you can then break into millions of tiny bits and try to sell to some schmuck as Diamonds to get something out of all this.
However, the commenter said that the possible 5th park WASN'T going to be a Marvel Theme park due to the possibility of any possible of losing the rights to Marvel as while the series is hugely popular Disney isn't interested basing an entire park around a single I.P. or (and this one is more likely) no one can agree how the park would work from a theme park standpoint. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are all parks that have a wide range of ideas but mixed with different I.P.s and settings and many feel that a Marvel Theme park just wouldn't work.
However, the park that Disney IS thinking of bringing in is one that would be universally welcomed by fans and casual park goers alike. A WDW version of Disney Seas from Disney Land Tokyo.
Even if this is completely BS (which it most likely is let's be honest) this is something that I think everyone would be okay with due to just how popular Disney Seas is. Just about everyone who has been to the park has called it one of the most immersive theme parks ever made and the videos of the rides taken online have MILLIONS of views and it's easy to see why as even a video of someone recording the rides show that these rides look AMAZING!!! And in many respects put some of Disney's rides to shame or are updates of classic rides that we may never see again.
Case in point here is a fan recreation of WDW's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Nice and Nostalgic but here's Disney Seas updated version of the ride

I have to admit, I honestly thought that the ride WAS underwater for a solid minute before I realized it was just a trick of the glass which has water in it. But this new version of 20,000 easily, no pun intended, blows the original out of the water. Just the fact that it's bigger and shows off more animatronics and has IMO a much stronger atmosphere really makes it, pun Fully intended here, 20,000 times better then the OG ride.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg as most of the other rides in DS are just as good if not better then this one. Also, it can do a few things differently then the OG DS like include a Marvel Area in place of or combined with American Waterfront. Make Mount Prometheus as large of Mount Everest over in Animal Kingdom (it is the park's icon so might as well go all out), include something from Raya and the Last Dragon (the film does have a water motif) instead of Mermaid Lagoon among other chances that could be added WHILE retaining most of the original park's popular rides.
One of Magic Kingdom's biggest advantage over the original Disney Land is the fact that MK has more space thanks to all the land Disney Bought up so a Seas of Walt Disney World could be more expansive then DisneySea could ever hope to be mainly because it has the space for it.
Again, I don't know if this would ever happen but MAN would it be awesome.

As far as I am aware the footfall at Disney World has not recovered since the pandemic (probably more to do with cash than the cough).

What I've heard is that it's been constantly overcrowded all year, even though they raised ticket prices quite a bit.
Was thinking of going myself to check out that new Star Wars land on the off season, but apparently off season is just not a thing now.

...for space is wide, and good friends are too few.

Well it makes sense, not only is the 50th Anniversary still ongoing but masks are no longer required for fully vaccinated guests and more popular rides and restaurants are reopening and given how crap the last few years have been people WANT to escape from all this so it makes sense that people would head over to Disney Parks just to get away.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 8:20 pm What I've heard is that it's been constantly overcrowded all year, even though they raised ticket prices quite a bit.

That's actually what started the conversation with the person who told me all this, WDW has been making a lot of money thanks to this sudden surge which is why some are talking about a 5th park. Again, this isn't a wide spread thing and I've only heard about it from a single person but another park would be welcomed by just about everyone.
