Upcoming Games, Movies and TV Shows for 2022's 3d and 4th Quarter

Post by Winter »

This years looks to be a pretty big year for speculative fiction for Films, Games and TV Shows. Can't list them all but I can go over the ones that seem to have the most hype behind them and going by media.

For films we have

Nope
Prey
Hocus Pocus 2
Halloween Ends
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Avatar: The Way of Water
Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods

TV on the other hand has got

Willow
Warrior Nun
The Sandman
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
House of the Dragon
Cobra Kai

And while games don't seem to have quite as many entries what is coming up have got a lot of people talking.

The Last of Us Part 1
God of War: Ragnarök
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

On top of this we've got The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power which is not something I think anyone is excited for but should be at least be interesting to talk about along with the Next Gen Upgrade of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt and the rumor that Horizon: Forbidden West will release a major expansion pack around October.

Even if none of these titles interest you they'll at least give us all something to talk about which is always fun.

Me personally I'm looking forward to Prey, Hocus Pocus 2, Willow, The Sandman and the games I just mentioned, even if most of them are just remasters of the original classics it will be great just to be able to play them on the new platforms. Crisis Core is actually a game I've been looking forward to for a while as I did play the original but the PSP was a pain in the ass to work with so I didn't replay it many times because of that. I will say that Willow doesn't interest me to much but as a fan of the original film I've been wanting a sequel for decades so it's nice to see a sequel to the original as even if it doesn't succeed it will still draw people's attention to the original which is always a win.

Not much to add here just that these are stories I'm looking forward to and am eager to watch/play.

TV has the Lord of Rings and Game of Thrones Prequels too. Not sure when season 3 of The Mandalorian will air though.

The Game of Thrones prequel may or may not be interesting. The time frame is Dancing with Dragons which is a Civil War and the Death of Dragons.

Right now the most material for that time period in the books is in Fire and Blood. Really hoping HBO tapped good writers for the show so they don't pull the bullshit that was done in Game of Thrones last two seasons. Shallow dialogue, action happening just for action, teleporting, characters acting totally different or reverting back to their season 1 versions etc.
I got nothing to say here.

I already mentioned the GOT Prequel and the Lord of the Rings show.

Dang there's not much when you list it out like that. Films it's pretty much Shazam 2 on the basis that the first one was unexpectedly good among the other DC efforts. Ditto TV which again is basically the Sandman, and that's got a lot of concern given how the last Gaiman adaptation in Good Omens went. Accentuating the positive the bit that Good Omens dropped the ball on was anything with the younger characters, and Sandman doesn't have much of those outside of the Dead Boy Detectives who likely won't be adapted anyway.

I'll likely check out GOT, LoTR, and She-Hulk out of curiousity and how Tatiana Maslany has been in the past. Trailer for that last one, oh dear, really not looking promising.

Yep. And?

It's the two series that is getting flack especially the Lord of Rings one. I am doing a wait and see with that one. Maybe it will be bad or maybe it will be good. Who knows.

Game of Thrones burned alot of bridges with its last season with many fans. It will have to rebuild those bridges and that means making the new series as good as the early GOT seasons.
I got nothing to say here.

Sorry the way the response was framed almost seemed like I hadn't mentioned the two.
TV has the Lord of Rings and Game of Thrones Prequels too.
My response was confusion to this comment, nothing more.

Yeah i should have reviewed my original post. I started it and had to stop to take a phone call from work. Got back to it and lost my train of thought.

I think it was originally going to say it was going to be the big TV events left.

Yeah majority of my posts are done on my phone. So when someone calls me, sometimes I lose track of what I am talking here. Or other places.

Also autocorrect happens...
