Also most US shows I've seen still portray doctors as being mostly white.
Because they *are*. With some Asians thrown in.
Then why were you having an issue with black doctors in US shows if their representation in media don't come close to how white doctors and Asian doctors are represented.
I think the preaching is implicit. Like the way hospital shows always have a black doctor, even though less than 3% of doctors in the US are African-American.
Seems like a non-issue to me especially since US media having a black doctor has been a thing since the 90s.

Or maybe an increase of qualified black doctors.
Becoming a doctor requires absorbing a whole lot of information, to the point that the IQ average is 125 and it's considered virtually impossible for people less than 115 to make it. Look at the normal distribution, and determine what percentage of African-Americans are potentially qualified to be doctors.
What's your point?

Meanwhile, the "I don't understand the obvious point" routine only works if you're a genuine idiot. You might be able to get away with that, but not TGLS.

Just say it outright you coward. This trying to stretch it out so you can accuse anyone who calls you out of putting words in your mouth is, as you say, relentlessly boring.

Ultimately the entertainment media constantly present a false image of reality and how it operates. Sometimes this is out of laziness, or ignorance, or a desire for fantasy that is presented indistinguishably from reality. But sometimes it is a conscious choice to reflect ideological positions that do not consider themselves to be in error when they don't match reality.
To quote Doctor Who:
The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common: they don't change their views to match the facts, they change the facts to match their views.

Again, seems like a non-issue to me especially since US media having a black doctor has been a thing since the 90s. Heck one of Denzel Washington's early breakthrough roles was playing a doctor on the medical drama St. Elsewhere in the 80s.
So, you're complaining about something that's been there for over 3 decades.

Here is the thing, hospital dramas are not out there to 100% represent how hospitals are in real life. It's a drama. It's fictional. And they are not out there to show every single hospital to fully represent the percentage of the different races that make up doctors/nurses.
Its focused on one hospital and its a show trying to get as many people to watch it as possible. If that means they got to show a disportionant percentage of POC as doctors to get those numbers, then so be it. If that means having a black doctor or more in each of these shows, then so be it.
