(Voy) Repression

This forum is for discussing Chuck's videos as they are publicly released. And for bashing Neelix, but that's just repeating what I already said.

(Voy) Repression

This is one of those episodes I all but forgot about and I mostly agree with Chuck on this on. A score of 3 is being generous considering the Galaxy Class sized holes in the plot though. At most, this episode gets a 2 from me.

And idea like this would need 2 parts. One for the mystery and one for the new situation. Because the whole thing is about setting up this scenario which they then quickly reverse in the last 5 minutes. Of course both the mystery and thing it's building towards have huge flaws and would need a better premise. I suppose Workforce kinda does something like this.

For me, Voyager is filled with forgettable episodes. It's one of those things where you only remember them once they are ten minutes in.

I honestly cannot say the same thing even with Enterprise.
I got nothing to say here.

I personally recommend you skip this episode and watch Worst Case Scenario instead, it had a very similar premise but did it much better (it got an 8 out of 10 from Chuck, BTW):

I don't know, I prefer something comfy and chill even if it's not likely to often get above watchable like Voyager than something that might be memorable but only because it's so bad and wrong-headed that it's actively going to annoy me like far too much of Enterprise.

Different tastes. For me Voyager is a harder series to watch than Enterprise. Enterprise certainly has its horrible episodes but so does Voyager.

Indeed obviously YMMV. Voyager also has the advantage like TNG, which has it's own share of truly horrible episodes, of having seven seasons. I could quite easily put together four seasons worth of episodes of Voyager that wouldn't have a single ep below watchable for me that would be mostly focused on the s3 to first half of s6 peak of the show.
