Also, it does make them murderers.
I don’t agree with them telling Gordon their plan, but otherwise, I agree with their choice. The woman probably had kids before Gordon interfered. Just because we never saw them doesn’t mean them being wiped out doesn’t matter. Even if she didn’t, one of his kids could have ended up having kids with someone who would have otherwise had other kids.

Living off the grid, admittedly, is too much to ask. Even that makes sense, sort of, in theory. He has a job someone else would have had. However, even living off the grid… What difference is he making in hunting animals? What if, years later, his body was found with that phaser?

Part of the issue is that the situation is in a “anything can happen” state of flux. That’s probably so we don’t know how much he interfered. What if Gordon was asked, “Did this woman have kids before you change the timeline?” She was the same one he was crushing on before, so he probably looked her up after. If the answer is yes, then he knowingly changed her life. If the answer is no, was he going to make sure his kids didn’t wipe out a family line?

Damn - I have to say Season 3 is just really top-notch. Every episode is pretty much it's own movie and each is absolutely breathtaking. Just watched episode 9 and once again it left me stunned and wanting more Orville.

I find it depressing as fuck that extolling the virtues of democracy feels necessary and relevant.

Yet it is.

So, that really felt like a finale, certainly a series climax. They left nothing on the table. I know there's one more episode of the season, but it will likely to wrap things up. It looks like this will be the end, certainly in the near term since no one picked up their options.
