One thing I did like about Leng is that Shepard clearly has the same opinion about him as the audience. Spends the whole fight making fun of him while wiping out the ads who are actually more threatening and then in the end butchers him out of hand with barely a word.
When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.

Which is probably a sign you have not written the character well.

Like we start off playing as who we think is our Shepard but it turns out s/he is a clone and since it was already set up in ME3 that is a thing it makes that DLC retroactively more important to the whole plot. Plus we can have some cloning blues if we so wish which could lead to some interesting discussions in the game.

If Shepard's life is what needs to be sacrificed to achieve a good end, Shepard would do it without a second thought. Alas, s/he is not allowed to do so.

His death makes perfect sense, as he's the one character who's constantly and consistently shown as given it all he's got an a conflict like that and such a scale, will take everything from you and then some. It's not played for drama or anything, it's just a hero giving his life to save the galaxy.
Similarly people cheering for Shepard's maybe comeback. Why? Are we, as a global society, really so hell-bent on preserving the eternal status quo of our heroes that we're smothering them so hard that they suffocate to a slow death, rather than accepting and appreciating that other people can and will stand up to fill the void? It's the eternal comic-book problem again and I am just so sick of it permeating every single medium. Rehashes, reboots, repeats. Fuck that. Embrace the new and look for far horizons!
Quod erat demonstrandum. Shepard has to be the fan's private body-pillow. There is no other way allowed to go for Mass Effect. Enjoy the disappointing and eternally empty husk of a franchise you are creating by what I can only call erotic fixations. Brave new world. Fuck me... What happened to "Go out there! Explore! Find new things!"?
"If you get shot up by an A6M Reisen and your plane splits into pieces - does that mean it's divided by Zero?

Question: Why do I want Shepard back?

Answer: I like Shepard as a character. I like Paragon Shepard, his voice acting, and the whole interesting characterization he had as someone who is a military man but a GOODtm guy. I think Mark Meer did a great job and I'd enjoy more from him. I like Jennifer Hale too. I would be interested in doing more adventures with them. I liked the relationships and story they created for themselves in the previous three games so I would like to play more.

I feel no shame for this and ask, "Why would you read more Batman comics!?"

And feel it's fucking bizarre to ask why you'd want to do more games with the same well-liked protagonist.

Have you considered it might be you who is being the "stop having fun guy."?

For me, the reason I want Shepard back is because I disliked how her story ended because it was not the story I was crafting for her. I hate the ending because I was told that this story that I was helping to shape was now no longer my story, that it was someone else's and I just needed to sit down and shut up and enjoy this Great Art that was being force upon me.

For me bringing Shepard back, even if it's not technically the Original Shepard, would be like giving me the chance to finish my characters story that is within my control.

I'm not against a new protagonist, I would honestly be 100% behind it but I just want a chance to tell the story of Shepard that DOESN'T get alerted by the developers suddenly telling me that this is no longer my story.
