According to behind the scenes sources, this film is so bad that DC were worried about brand damage if it were to see the light of day. Just think about this: how bad does a film have to be for a $70 million loss to be the preferred option?
The DC cinematic universe has been a disaster. This cannot be argued at this point. In my opinion, the biggest mistake they ever made was hiring Jack Snyder. He is the original sin. Once you f-k up Superman and Batman in a franchise mostly known for Superman and Batman, that's it, you're done. Take that burned bun out of the oven.
In this day and age, where humanity in the real world has become so nihilistic and divided, we did not need or want this Superman. A man who needed to be told to save people. And if the reports are to be believed, do you know what the sequel to Justice League would have been if Snyder had been allowed to make it? An adaption of Injustice Gods Among Men. Where Superman turns evil. That's what all of those flashbacks with Batman in a trench coat were meant to be.
And as for Batman... Christian Bale's Batman was dark. That is what I would call ''dark''. Ben Affleck's Batman was a paranoid savage who brands people. Someone once said that if you cannot imagine your Batman comforting a scared child then all you have is the Punisher in tights. Because that's who Batman is. He does what he does to prevent any more children from losing their parents. You never got that from Affleck Batman. Not once.

I sincerely wish they would make a Superman movie with modern effects. The real "If you knew how you were loved, not one of you would raise a hand in rage again" Superman. At this point there's a whole generation who only knows the character from cynical parodies.
...for space is wide, and good friends are too few.

Expect basically all of Warner Bros to be gutted over the next few years and replaced with reality TV because the new CEO and President, David Zaslav, is then that turned the Discovery channel into trash tv.

I heard that it was for tax breaks.
Other people said the movie was killed because they want to punish HBO.
There's no true answers.

Well bad enough I guess. But, for real, if they turned over a $70 million porch rock then it is because what they're looking at is worth more in their eyes.clearspira wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 7:10 pmAccording to behind the scenes sources, this film is so bad that DC were worried about brand damage if it were to see the light of day. DC has dropped the word ''comics'' from its website. Could mean nothing. Or it could be that the rumours of DC moving away from comics are true. Print comics have been failing for years due to a variety of reasons. There will always probably be a Superman or a Batman in some form, but that's about it. From the website's blurb they want to be about ''experiences'' in future. Which... sounds like reality TV I don't know about you.

And just last month, it was reported that HBO Max had the highest customer satisfaction among the major streaming services.

*If rumors about HBO Max being absorbed into Disovery+ are true*
David Zaslav: "I got a brilliant idea! Let's merge the highest ranking streaming platform with the lowest ranking one!!"

Say what you will about Disney and Disney plus it not going anywhere you want to watch a captain America movie you know where to go. If you want to watch Superman go to Blu ray
