Should The Predator be Retconned Out of the Franchise?

YES!!!

Look of all the Predator films released over the years The Predator is easily the worst. I would rather watch Alien vs. Predator: Requiem then this film again as at least that film has a GOOD Predator in it. But TP, it's a BAD movie with bad characters, subpar acting and weak action with two of the worst Predators in the series to date. And to top it all off it also makes a number of dumb retcons that ruins what made the series lore so unique.

Instead of Trophy Hunters who hunt men and other races for challenge they now are harvesting DNA to genetically modify themselves with other races. This needlessly complicates the series and just makes them another generic alien race that kills humans for their own nefarious purposes when them just hunting us because we present a challenge was MORE then enough.

It makes the series more complicated because this new motivation now no longer makes sense when compared to the other films. Why did the Predators in Predator 2 let Harrigan go when he defeated one of their own in hand to hand combat and had already given it one hell of a beating BEFORE that. Why did the first Predator take Billy's skull when it had apparently killed him in a matter of seconds, wouldn't that make Billy seem weak compared to the other humans? Hell the ones he did take where all pretty small fires when compared to the ones it killed later? Why did the Predators in Predators kidnap other races to hunt when it would have been better to just kill them and harvest their DNA that why? And the one person they did take the skull of was a pathetic weakling who only managed to get a few hits on the Berserker Predator because he was wearing body armor.

And the film doesn't even make sense on its own as the Fugitive Predator was apparently coming to HELP humans in an apparent coming invasion of Earth but instead of helping it spends ALL of it's time KILLING the humans its trying to help... Because they provide a challenging hunt... This film is dumb.

And it just gets worse with the whole... (deep annoyed sigh) When the movie presents autism as a superpower and the next stage of human evolution... This isn't QUITE as bad as turning people into salamanders by going faster then light but it's UP There on the scales of Idiot Science. This manages to be both dumb AND Offensive that people WITH autism called the film out on, autism does NOT turn you into a SUPER COMPUTER!!! It's a disorder of a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave.

There are so many reasons this film sucks that I'm honestly kind of amazed that no one has asked Chuck to review it yet. It's bad and the kinda film that should be left in the waste bin of cinema and only examined to show how to NOT make film. Not just a Predator film but a film in general.
