There are many sites illustrating how ridiculous the scientific aspects of CSI are.

It's not as if TNG's "multi-phasic temporal convergence in the space-time continuum." or TOS's "That might be done by generating a strong pinpoint charge of M-rays on some of these selected wave lengths and tying them in with the combined output of all our engines." is any better.

Not seen CSI but is it actually trying to give the impression that there's any real-world science there? Obviously Trek isn't (with one or two rare exceptions).

It's been a long time since I have seen a CSI episode or any of those types of shows to begin with.

But I do remember that portrayal of investigating evidence takes much longer than it shows on the episode. Doesn't take hours or even days but weeks in some cases. Or how detailed the technology can be for investigating crimes.

Classic example is being able to zoom in and sharpen some shit security camera. Doesn't work that way. I am sure a fan of these shows could bring in better examples.

I am sure they don't pull the Trek standard of techno babble. Making up bullshit on the fly. I might be wrong though.
