You are right. Technically.

I mean without a doubt they probably wouldn't stand a chance all things else being even with the US for example. The US has far more experience.
I got nothing to say here.

China might be willing to be the first to use nukes and would be quite happy to reduce its surplus male population in a high-casualty military operation. America would be unlikely to resort to nukes regardless of provocation and would face significant opposition to spending its forces like water.

Whilst China would probably be happy enough sending its own people to die I doubt it would be the first to use nukes, for all that it's a very unpleasant regime it's also a fairly pragmatic one and would understand the consequences.

I dunno, I could easily see China using nukes on its own territory against invaders, and then what? Neither Europe nor the US will want to start a nuclear exchange, and neither can afford to put serious sanctions on Chinese trade.

Much depends on how the nuclear weapons are used, and when.

The last thing China wants to do with it's overaging population is, repeat the same bullshit Putler just did. More than a million Russians are gone and will never come back and that's on top of the war-casualties and Russia had a critical shortage of young people of fertile age before already. China is paying very close attention to the outcome of this failed adventure and won't make a move before it can disunite the Western World and Russia Made that really, really really not a thing going to Happen any time soon.

China has lots and lots of young men who won't be able to find wives, because there simply aren't enough women. It's going to be a serious problem in the next decade or so. I can easily imagine high Chinese officials being quietly relieved at the deaths of a few hundred thousand soldiers.

Another important difference is that China is run for China. Whilst that certainly doesn't seem to mean the actual people who live there, and it's gone a bit more about the personality with Xi, it's very different from Russia, where that's just a tool for Putin to exploit and ruin in the process.

Putin runs Russia for Putin, while the Chinese Communist Party runs China for the Chinese Communist Party. There are important differences but ultimately the situation is much the same; the biggest difference is that a man is mortal while an organization has Type 1 Immortality.

Procreation isn't the only worth of those people. They are still working and creating the money-flow which is essential for the support of the old people and will keep doing so for the next 20 to 40 years. If they are gone, China has more problems than just not enough babies.
