Re: Musk Buys Twitter; Purges Executives
It doesn't look like he did anything he couldn't have done before buying the company, I don't see the problem.

It's going to be a mix of that and people with 8 bucks and a burner account pretending to celebrities, politicians, government organizations and corporations.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 5:32 pm I don't use the platform myself but I am really looking forward to a few days from now when the new system is activated and everyone who bought a checkmark learns it turned into a "please bully me" sign overnight.

Ahh. Maybe I should stay on top of this more.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 10:19 amNot $8 to use it. $8 to be a verified user.McAvoy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 3:05 amI doubt it will die. It will just get smaller. Take away everything and just leave the idea you have to pay $8 a month to use it, many will just leave it just because of that.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 8:45 pm I hope it doesn't die because I use it for advertising.
I got nothing to say here.

Musk has told his employees that bankruptcy is a possibility.
Between this and Facebook cutting 11,000 staff,

The future doesn't seem bright for these two previous social media giants. And funnily enough, they have both been destroyed for the same reason: incompetent leadership. Nothing is too big to fail, my friends. It just takes longer.

Twitter might not make it to the end of the year. Musk pissed away billions for nothing.

Which is kinda funny, given Twitter started to finally make money right before Musk started his schtick. Also a thing of note: How did Twitter make it until here, if it never made a profit?

By taking on low interest debt and keeping investors happy with the promise of future returns. Like there are a bunch of companies that are massively overleveraged due to over a decade of rock bottom interest rates.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 4:32 pm Which is kinda funny, given Twitter started to finally make money right before Musk started his schtick. Well that didn't last long
https://www.reuters.com/technology/musk ... 022-11-11/Nov 11 (Reuters) - Elon Musk's Twitter Inc on Friday brought back the "official" badge to some accounts, just days after doing away with it, while several users reported the new subscription option for the blue verification check mark had disappeared.
The move follows a surge in fake accounts on the platform after new boss Elon Musk allowed users to pay $8 for the coveted blue check mark that was previously reserved for verified accounts of politicians, actors and other major personalities.
