Red Wave Doesn't Happen

Post by Fuzzy Necromancer »

Well, this is unexpected and historic! Rather than the standard midterm losses, the democratic party has held strong and may actually keep its lead. Rather than doing any soul-searching, Republicans are accusing young people of being brainwashed by their teachers and pushing to raise the voting age.

Been reading reports that the GOP is losing faith with Trump now.

Source on raising the voting age thing? I have heard this brought up before for mostly the same argument. Just curious what they ard saying now.
I got nothing to say here.

I was honestly expecting a slaughter. Looks like people care more about reproductive rights than they do about inflation. It's honestly really heartening.

Changing the voting age is just bluster, that's guaranteed by the 26th Amendment and they would need another full amendment to remove it.

Watching the GOP desperately trying to get rid of the Trump albatross around their neck before 2024 after they already refused all the ways to do it with any dignity should be fun.

A cap on voting age would be more appropriate

Something even more dangerous than Trump is coming: someone who has Trump's ideas but with a political brain and without the baggage. I dont know enough about your politics to name this person, but the people who voted Trump haven't gone anywhere.

But yeah, I wouldn't call this a Biden win, I would call this a Trump loss. The latter is spoilt goods now.

It's looking to be Ron DeSantis. He was already muscling in on the role, and the Murdoch media empire in particular is pushing him hard.

I think it's absolutely hilarious that Trump is so upset about all the Republican losses except for the one Rep that he didn't want to run, DeSantis.

I imagine there is going to be a particularly brutal primary between Trump and DeSantis.

I don't think Trump has any ideas, merely positions he found rhetorically convenient. He showed no signs of concern about illegal immigration, he only worked to support a specific project (half-assedly) that his voters were enthusiastic about.
