Seems like a great way to transfer money from the dumb to the canny. Post a Tweet asserting that LM is crippling itself, wait for the stock price to drop when morons sell, buy up the stocks at the reduced price, wait for price to rise back.

I mean stock value is primarily based on belief. Misinformation can either artificially inflate or tank a given stock. Loclheed notably didn't have anything else that would cause that kind of dip, no below average earnings report, no big negative news, just a guy with the name and a verified check mark saying they weren't going to sell weapons to the US anymore.clearspira wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 8:33 pm Does Twitter really have the power to wipe billions off the stock market though? Dunno, seems a bit far-fetched to me. Twitter is a very nice patsy to blame your troubles on right now.

Depends if you're looking for money or control, and in the long or short term.

So apparently two factor authentication was broken as a part of removing "bloatware"

Yep. Elon Musk is just running around the twitter headquarters chewing on wires like a squirrel.
It looks like he might be choosing a different CEO so things might get a little less...entertaining.

I mean they say A people hire A people, but B people hire C people. So like there's a good chance that that the CEO is also a chuckle fuck.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 4:39 am Yep. Elon Musk is just running around the twitter headquarters chewing on wires like a squirrel.

Musk got so far into his Steve Jobs roleplay that he forgot he's not actually an engineer.

No, turns out I was wrong. The CEO change was from a parody account.Draco Dracul wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 5:12 amI mean they say A people hire A people, but B people hire C people. Re: Musk Buys Twitter; Purges Executives
One thing that occurs to me about all of this: If Twitter crashes, and I mean, really crashes, what is the future of Twitter? Will it die or will someone else buy it for nothing? Who would saddle themselves with such massive debt besides another equally questionable billionaire?
It seems to me that the Western world will fundamentally change without Twitter. You may think I am being dramatic, but this is something we don't think about: Ease of access. Easy access to politicians? Easy access to game developers? Easy access to celebrities? Easy access to your favourite Youtuber? All gone. Yes there are other social media sites, but none as popular. We kind of take this for granted but we didn't have this privilege before social media.
And lets not forget: elections have been won/lost thanks to Twitter. This was Trump's weapon as an example. The world is different because of Twitter. And if it goes...
