We’ll it also doesn’t help that people are often flippant with their outlooks on social policy. That’s subject to the scientific method as well.

Pretty much this.Frustration wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 9:57 pmAh, yes. "Accountability". Something everyone is for, until the speech that *they* want to make is decided to be unacceptable by the authorities, then it's tyranny.
The "Marketplace of Ideas" works remarkably well; I think half the problem with this debate is that there are certain kinds of people who don't believe in "markets" at all, or at least loudly claim not to as rhetoric.
It is also the reverse. Where something that they deem unacceptable isn't considered by authorities as unacceptable.
I got nothing to say here.

It's really not as sensational as people make it out to be. It's not about injecting value into the order, but just making sure no one rule violates another within a matrix of rules.pilight wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 6:11 pmMost people aren't familiar enough with the intricacies of social policy to discuss them any other wayBridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 2:56 am We’ll it also doesn’t help that people are often flippant with their outlooks on social policy. Well. The correct move would have been to keep the existing one and then replace it with whatever they think will upgrade it.TGLS wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 6:30 am Hey look, they removed the suicide prevention features!
What the fuck?
The question would be why would they remove it.

Probably because people abuse the feature, the same way similar features are abused on, say, reddit.

I don't think I've ever heard of that kind of thing being used on any site for anything other than harassment.

Re: Elon's Twitter
So we're now at the point of twitter blue subscriptions and checkmarks (the old verification checks are gone) having so much negative social credit attached that Elon is giving people blue status against their will as a form of harassment. And/or as a joke, I don't think he actually knows those are different.
On the other hand I'm genuinely impressed they kept the site up this long after firing everyone who understands how the software works.
